We've Got You Covered

Timbuk2's Lifetime Warranty

Timbuk2 products have a lifetime warranty; we stand behind the legendary quality and craftsmanship of all our products. Our warranty is valid only when the Timbuk2 product is purchased through Timbuk2 directly (via timbuk2.com or one of our brick-and-mortar retail stores) or through an Authorized Reseller.

We also embrace the wild, twisty ways of life. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair  the bag at our discretion. Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, accidential damage, and cosmetic damages that do not affect the functionality of the bag (such as scratches or stained fabrics). Any damage to, loss of the contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered. The lifetime warranty also does not include our apparel products, such as Timbuk2 t-shirts and hoodies.

Your Timbuk2 bag is sewn by hand and might contain some slight imperfections. Like Daniel Craig or Marilyn Monroe, the slight imperfections are what add character to an already awesome product.

Warranty & Repair FAQ

What is covered by the warranty?

Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship are covered, notwithstanding age. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair the bag at our discretion.
*If your product arrived defective from Timbuk2.com please email Customer Service and we'll move mountains to right your wrong.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues that do not affect the functionality of the bag, and accidental damage. Any damage to or loss of contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered.  Unless a product is designed and stated to be machine washable, washing bags in washing machines can result in damage not covered by our warranty.

Wear and tear is damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use. Regardless of how carefully you use, or how well you care for your bag, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Usual wear and tear not covered by the lifetime warranty includes changes in color, abrasions, and general breakdown of materials over time.  Some examples of common wear and tear include color fading from sun exposure, worn elastic, and fabric wear, especially in high wear areas such as corners, reflective binding, worn velcro, and worn shoulder or back padding. Some examples of accidential damage are rips or cuts in fabric, animals chewing or clawing on our products, as well as damage arising from airline abuse such as bent or dented luggage handles or damaged/cracked wheels & bottomplates.

What products aren’t covered by your fabulous warranty?

Any headwear, apparel or footwear. Third party attachments and or devices like the Joey power packs or NiteIze blinky lights, or Blue bottle kit accessories like scales, grinders, or cups. Any other third party accessories sold by Timbuk2 but not bearing the Timbuk2 brand.  The items are generally warrantied by their respective manufacturers.

Warranty & Repair Process

North America Warranty or Repair Claim Details

Step 1 - Please select the appropriate link and check out to start a repair claim:

Please keep in mind that the repair fee payment is held as a pending authorization only - and will never be charged unless the damage or nature of the repair request is not covered under warranty and the bag can be repaired.

After checking out, you will receive an email with instructions and a form to print out. A repair number will be generated and will need to be included with the bag when you send it in for repairs.

Step 2 - Send us the bag with the Repair number

Please send the bag to the address provided in the repair details email. Be sure to write your repair number on the outside of your package. We recommend using the least expensive shipping method that will provide you with a tracking number and insurance. Timbuk2 is not responsible for parcels lost in transit. Your repair fee covers the return shipping in the lower 48 United States.

  • Package up your bag, include a copy of the repair form with a description of the concern(s).
  • Write the repair number on the outside of the package  (W-XXXXXXX).

Please keep in mind that California State law requires that all items accepted for repair be freshly cleaned. You wouldn't want to dig through someone else's nasty, so help us provide a clean and safe environment for our employees. If we determine that your bag needs to be cleaned, we will return it to you without preforming the repair(s). We do not offer cleaning services. For more information on how to properly clean and maintain your awesome Timbuk2 bag, please see Bag Care.

Once your item arrives, our repair team will be evaluate your claim within 7-10 business days and determine if the issues can be repaired and what is covered under the Lifetime Warranty.  Because pictures don't tell the whole story, and we want to give your claim the best possible evaluation, warranty assessemnts are only preformed in person once our repair team receives your bag.

  •      If the claim issues are covered by the lifetime warranty, we will waive the authorization fee and repair your product.
  •      If any repairable claim issues are not covered by the lifetime warranty, we will charge the authorization fee and repair your product.

Not sure your bag can be repaired, please contact us.

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

Unfortunately, I had to stop using it. I walk a lot and also use a bike almost every day. The bag was beginning to hurt really bad on my back due to its metallic structure. It didn't fit comfortably at all (it took me almost two weeks to accept it; I was really excited about the purchase and was trying to convince myself otherwise). Too bad, it was my first Timbuk2 purchase. It wasn't a cheap bag. I don't think I'd buy another Timbuk2 product again...

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

Using as my daily bag for work with a 13" laptop and a tablet. Good size. My only disappointment has been the strap length. I would like to wear it more at my side but the strap is so short that the only comfortable spot is along my back. It feels very secure but I like having easy access, especially if I am rocking a camera.

Beautiful bag, awkward design

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

I want to love this bag. The external design and the leather trim are gorgeous. Unfortunately, the suspension system is over-designed. Because of its curved "trampoline" back, a laptop in the bag's computer sleeve can't sit flat against the back on the bag, and ends up using just about all usable space inside. Frustrating. What I ended up doing is removing the curved plastic board and aluminum frame from the bag (via a zippered compartment that was thoughtfully designed in). This effectively kills one of the bag's features (the "trampoline" suspension system), but makes it much easier to slide in a laptop and gives me a whole lot more usable space.

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

Was looking for an attractive laptop bag for transporting computer to/from the office.

This bag covers the attractive requirement... then stops. Within a minute of pulling it out of the shipment bag, your excitement turns to confusion. The body of the bag has horribly odd concave metal "boning" that projects inward toward the contents of the bag (in this case - your laptop). I'm increasingly baffled by this. The shoulder strap is far too short - even at the loosest buckle. The flap hardly closes once you have a laptop inside - yet this is not an issue of the laptop not fitting in the bag/being too big. ?? Just STRANGE construction and honestly really surprising for a Timbuk2 product. The side straps are only sewn half way up the bag which causes the bag to want to flip upside down from time to time. Honestly, this bag makes me feel like I'm being "punked" when I'm using it because it is so completely awkward it's almost comical.

I have only used it for 1 week and I probably should have sent it back upon opening the shipment bag. Nothing seems to make sense, but it only gets worse after you begin using it.

Bummed. It's attractive...but not functional at all. :-(

Pros

  • Good Styling
  • High Quality
  • Nice Liner Material

Cons

  • Akward Metal Frame
  • Difficult To Packunpack
  • Shoulder Padding Unusable
  • Strap Difficult To Adjust
  • Strap Is Too Short
  • Too Tight To Use Pockets

Best Uses

  • For Minimal Luggage Only

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

Unfortunately, because of the design flaws I only used the bag for a week before going back to my old timbuk2. This bag looks great but I really can't recommend it at all, as it's so impractical in daily use. The metal frame really makes it very akward to pack and unpack, and the inside pockets can't really be used for lack of space. The shoulder strap is too short to adjust, and as the padding can't be moved it never sits on the shoulder, where it should be. My two older and much cheaper Timbuk2s are way better to handle. I would have liked to like this bag ...

Stylish, Comfortable, Practical - But a Tad Complex to Pack

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

If you want a stylish bag that works well on a bike or walking around, this is your bag. It is comfortable, fairly easy to take on and off, and because it's suspended away from your back, keeps you cool and the bag free of sweat stains.

The only drawback is that packing the bag is awkward. If you mess around with it, you can figure out ways to make it work for you. My tip: The laptop sleeve can sort of fold out. So if you are bringing clothes with you, flip the laptop section out, roll the clothes tight and put them at the bottom, then fold the sleeve back in. This utilizes the otherwise "invisible" space at the bottom of the bag.

In short, this bag is durable yet incredibly stylish - you feel special just wearing it. The only drawback is that the bag requires extra effort to pack because of its curved back panel.

(@Timbuk2: It would actually help if there weren't quite as many pockets and only the laptop sleeve, so that packing it was even easier.)

All in all, I would DEFINITELY recommend this bag: super stylish, comfortable, and super practical. What more could you want?

Comments about Bici Laptop Messenger Bag:

I waited to buy this bag to make sure I needed. I did. Thus, I bought it and liked the looks of it and that it is comfortable to wear. But it is an awkward bag. It has no room, it is a computer bag and that is it. I am considering removing the bars in the back to make it more roomy. Clearly, I am disappointed as I have other Timbuk2 bags and I love them. Not this one. I don't know what went "wrong," but clearly if you use it for a couple of days you realize the issue main issue is not-enough-room (the front straps are too short too). In a second round please add more room and make the straps in the front longer.
