My son is 15 weeks old, and I’m currently in the middle of diaper-bag hell.
While the hack kit seems like a good idea, it’s not really going to work. Having to rummage through the diaper bag to find the thing you’re looking for while your kid is on one of those Koala Care changing tables (without a counter in sight to put your stuff on) screaming his head off will drive you nuts.
What I want in a diaper bag: a pocket for wipes, a pocket for diapers, another pocket for the changing pad, another pocket for pacifiers and pockets for my stuff, too! Straps that attach on to a stroller or shopping cart are an almost MUST as well.
Basically, if you got one of the medium commuter bag and in the laptop area if you made extra dividers for diapers, wipes, pad, and then had a special strap that worked with strollers…..well, I’d pay just about anything you wanted to charge for such a Timbuk2 bag!!!
Huh, this give me an idea for my husband’s commuter bag….
I’m with this chick. I’m looking for the exact same thing. In looking for the perfect bag for my preggo sister I’ve noticed their either too small/too big, or too cute or too punk. We need the perfect all terrain super awesomely chic yet not girly diaper bag with compartments galaore to hold everything from the poopy necessities to toys, and a book/ipod for mom. Please make a bag that can become a daily part of her new mommyhood life, as your messenger has become for me and my bay area single gal life
I agree - Stacey’s ideas are great! My oldest child is turning five and I’m 33 weeks pregnant so here’s my feedback on my many years of diaper bag experience.
I prefer a messenger / sling style… not too big or bulky.
Outside… In the front…the foldover flap would have a zippered pocket (great for burp cloths. The back would have a big pocket - no need for a zipper here… perhaps just velcro– for the changing pad (easy access is KEY!!!)
Inside, on one side… two pockets… for diapers, wipes. On the other side, a zippered pocket (or two!). Finally, a split down the middle to accommodate a change of clothing / toys, etc.
A side bottle pocket would also be great (insulated would be terrific!) as would a stroller attachment, but now I’m being greedy
Please!!
I agree with Stacey! I am only finishing my first trimester and racking up many hours researching the perfect diaper bag. I LOVE and I say, I LOVE my Timbuk2 messenger bag. Add a few extra compartments for all the little kiddie accessories and I think you will have the best diaper bag in the world!!
PLEASE make one soon!!!!
ps..my hubby is also requesting a messenger bag for a diaper bag…
Wow…Ladies. My twins (M-n-M) have just turned 2. I hear you on the diaper bag department. I ahve so many and I am still searching for the perfect mommy bag. Right now, I have been toying with the idea of the Market tote. Simple. I have the small, but am afraid that it is not big enough to carry their stuff & my own…and the fact is….i think that the added option of a long strap on the medium to be able to wear it across the body is perfect too. I just do not want it to look too big on a 4′11 petite…me. I would suggest this product that I have for my kids…and if you order the large..you can use it for other things after they are out of diapers…..One of the greatest products I have ever bought….is the Patemn Pad. Great! and is almost a diaper bag in itself. Especially for those quick outings and even at home. Chack them out….http://www.patemm.com/index.html
I’m with everyone else on this. I have a messenger style diaper back that a really like already but it is WAY too small for travel!! Ideally I would want the timbuk2 medium sized messenger bag but with a zippered compartment for my stuff - wallet, phone, chapstick, etc. Then pockets lining the front and back insides for diapers, wipes, burp cloths + bibs, extra clothes and an insulated pocket for a bottle would be great too! Two side outside pockets for my water bottle (or baby’s bottle)A large pocket on the outside back for a changing pad. I should just draw you a design and mail it in
