Zero per gallon–dig it!

We’ve gotten a couple of emails about Mark Emery’s picture on the home page, particularly about the sweet zero per gallon patch on it. It got me thinking: I bet a lot of people are probably thinking, “yo, that patch is sweet/sick/friggin-awesome — I wonder how I can get one…”

Well to answer your question, Jonny Waldman started zeropergallon.com with the simple thought of making a sticker that pokes fun at gas-guzzling, SUV-driving idiots. Call it arrogance, I call it awesome. Now he makes patches, t-shirts, belts and cute little [bling-bling] necklaces made out of old downtube shifters. So get yours and take it ad hominem! What does that mean? It means I’m pretentious.

Mark Emery sent me this response to put up here:

“I custom ordered this bag during the summer of 2001. The material is waxed canvas and the bag has a few added features - namely the black Zodiac-like material on the bag bottom, bag bottom compression straps, and center divider. This is the 2nd of the largest bags offered at the time. I’ve ridden with this bag through heat, freezing cold, and pouring rain without any problems other than a few broken plastic closure clips from exposure to sub-zero Minnesota commutes, which Timbuk2 gladly replaced free of charge.

    Cheers and keep riding.”

I was wondering about that patch, as well as what kind of bag is in the picture. I’m guessing it must’ve been a limited ed. since it, or even one in another colorway, doesn’t appear to be on the site.
