Papa’s got a brand new bag

My new Timbuk2 bag

Just wanted to take a moment to show off my new timbuk bag, featuring a reflective panel on the bottom and one of Jonny’s Zero Per Gallon patches on the front. Looking forward to showing both off to all the cars on my way home.

dang. Where’d you get the reflective panel? Just came with a certain design, or you put it on later?

Where can I get hold of a reflective panel? Looks like a smart idea, though. Since my other two reflexes got stolen twice.

    Dear Reflective Panel Envy,
I got the reflective panel out of a scrap bin in our sewing room. We discontinued making the pro series bags with the reflective panel because the material was not environmentally friendly. We are coming out with a new line of bags that have a 3M reflective panel protected by a mesh liner. Should be launching here pretty soon. Hold tight.

Speaking of new bags, and not to hijack le thread, did the promised February 1 debut of the redesigned Commute happen? Let me translate my post-Vegas babble: is the new Commute ready to ship?

    Thanks!

    Programmer #1/Cyberdyne T-1000,

Thank you. I choose to carry my laptop, charger and box of business cards in my arms until the new Commute comes out. Kind of a hassle while paying for coffee, but next to the new Commute’s naughty little back zippered compartment, it’s the easiest way to unload my stuff in security.

I second the motion for a Timbuk2 pannier set. After seeing your new seat bag, it got me thinking.

And after 4+ years of loving my medium messenger bag, I know I would love (and need some) Timbuk2 panniers.

(Or how about a conversion kit to attach the messenger bag?)

Any word on when the new reflective bags are going to be out? Will there be a backpack version? Thanks.

Is there any chance that you are going to make panniers? Or a pannier conversion set?

e.g. so I can attach my Medium Outtawhack Day Pack to a bike frame?

Or do you know anyone who does makes something that does that?
