hmm....I a Singapore,A fan of Timbuk2.
But!,I only hate 1 thing,design.
3 colour panels and limited editions are quite boring and kind of ugly.
-
Now for the new logo placement.
I've comment once during January.
Hmmm.....I suggest a luminous coloured logo
But at a increased price of 2-8:USD.

I love the logo right in its original placement - smack on the front of the bag. Could see offering the strap logo as an option, especially for businesspeople, etc. I carry my Timbuk2 to work, whether I take the bicycle or the car, and love the logo.

I like the logo on the strap. If I could CHOOSE, I'd choose no logo at all. Guess I'm kinda Cayce-Pollardian that way. But having the logo on the strap is the kind of branding I can live with.

I vote for leaving the logo in the back flap. I do like the idea of having the logo have some sort of reflective thread. It'd be very cool looking. In the custom bag website application, what about allowing people to upload images of things that they would want stiched to the bag? What about providing a set # of logos/designs that people could have stiched to their custom bags.

I love the Timbuk2 bags. It'd be cool to be able to customize the bag with other things than just the 3 color panels.

Lizzy!

Another vote for leaving the logo where it is on the body of the case.

As an aside... I ordered a custom laptop messenger... with black/olive/black... and an olive logo... and the olive logo wasn't even close in color to the olive panel.
That was disapointing... I should have ordered a black logo, I guess.

Also... I use it for a 15.4" laptop... and the computer securing velcro strap needs to be about 1" longer to be useful.

but still... an *AWSOME* bag.

Lizzy,
Thanks so much for listening to your customers!
:-)
I feel like Timbuk2's colors are often limited to conservative, dark, dull, or too bright.
Professional women are becoming less afraid to express their feminine style, including pastels and softer shades, not only looking for 100% saturation.
That said, I would personally go for pink-orange-yellow panels if I could afford it right now.
I like both the visible retroreflective and the covert options. One funky idea might be to have a hidden reflective pattern or message in the covert stuff, like a big Timbuk2 logo which only shows up under direct lighting.

If I had to pick one, I'd say I like it on the flap. If I could have both, I would.

Sierra - Incredibly helpful notes on color and reflective materials. There is a cult following for the pink and orange reflective. I have it in white and love it. Also, I agree 100% on the black edging. It's hard to make a super hip looking bag when you can't control that part. We have a really talented design team working on color and style here so I'll pass these notes on to them. Keep the comments coming!
