Wow if only this was adopted by the rest of the world, looks like I need to immigrate to Portland!
Totally. Portland is starting to look like Shangri-La! With all their micro-brews, bikes, local gourmet, and friendly people. . . If only it had “sunshine.”
This would be great for scooters/motorcycles as well…
SF already has at least one of these in the city, (N-Bound Scott St. @ Oak (The end of the Wiggle). Unfortunately, it’s not colored pavement because SF is testing colored pavement (http://www.sfmta.com/cms/bproj/27370.html), which is the reason PDX is so welcoming to riders (and a great outreach campaign to drivers makes it effective). You can see that the SFBC has been pushing for these for a long time, along with other innovative ideas (Feb/March Tube Times, written by me): http://www.sfbike.org/download/tubetimes/tt_090203.pdf
Naw, Portland sucks.
Don’t bother to come; it rains ALL THE TIME! IT’S COLD! IT’S LIKE ALASKA– ALL TUNDRA AND WOLVES!
There’s nothing to see here; DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING!
