Continuing our build-up to Pride weekend, I had to share San Francisco’s latest public health campaign. “The HEALTHY PENIS campaign is back in San Francisco and better than ever. The campaign was first implemented in San Francisco in 2002. It proved to be highly effective in raising awareness about syphilis and persuading gay men to get screened, which led to a significant decrease in syphilis cases. . . Less provocative spin off campaigns” were launched in other cities around the country (woot woot SF!).
Cheers to the San Francisco Department of Public Health for thinking outside the box and using clever adds to educate people.
