According to Wikipedia, “Huskies are an active, energetic and resilient breed whose ancestors came from the extremely cold and harsh environment of the Siberian Arctic. . . imported to Alaska as sled dogs.” However, the Siberian Husky, “rapidly acquired the status of a family pet and a show-dog.” Our very own Siberian Husky Rizzo is living proof of his breed’s movement up the ladder from laborer to lover. I consider myself lucky that Rizzo has shed his ferocious, hard-working roots for slightly more demure behavior.
