Bicycle Contortionist

I see a lot of foldadable bikes on my ride to work every day. The tiny wheels and funky looking frames never make me feel envious except when I’m lugging my bike up three flights of stairs every night, hoping/praying I don’t bash the walls. Treehugger.com reported on a snazy new foldable bike that has a rather sexy looking frame and can be rolled around when folded up. No more awkward carrying moves! I’m not ready to make the switch, but this bike is a rather impressive demonstration of bicycle contortionism. Learn more about the bike here.

I’m going to college and want to take my bike with me.

If I had one of those I wouldn’t have to worry about it getting stolen since I’d just store it in my room.

Any chance for a link to buy them?

Strida can also be wheeled while folded.

Looks like there are still some things to be done with this concept. Ideally – it would include both drivetrain (many manufactures choose a chain drive) and brakes (just having the levers and discs doesn’t mean you can stop)

Cool concept – would love to see it marketable.

Wow, love the way way the front wheel folds – gracefully like an umbrella. I own a strida and it looks sort of like youre breaking it when you fold it up… and how do you get a drive train in that curved segment ?
