We launched our massively upgraded classic messenger last night and it’s totally Napoleonic. Why? Because it has our new Napoleon pocket. What’s that? It’s one of our messenger’s new features that makes us pat ourselves on the back (and then scold ourselves for being vain).
The Napoleon pocket is a side zipper pocket you can access without opening the messenger flap! No more velcro-commotion just to grab your cash and keys. This feature is so slick we called out the big guns to promote it. Meet Napoleon Jonny. Part French Emperor, part smurf man. I just bought a custom laptop bag.
What size is that bag in the picture?

Can the Napoleon pocket be accessed from both sides? If not, can you specify the side if making a custom bag? I also noticed the custom bag builder no longer asks what side you want to carry your bag on. Is this no longer an option?
DT. The Napoleon Pocket only has a zipper on one side (sorry!). The zipper is on the same side as the cam buckle and is designed to be worn over your left shoulder so you can adjust the cam buckle with your right hand and use your left hand to get into the Napoleon Pocket.

What about DT’s comment about the choosing the side your cam buckle is on?!?! I’m right handed but like to wear my bag on my right shoulder. (I know, I’m weird like that.) I guess it shouldn’t matter what side this new cam buckle is worn on, right?
Sorry Bessy but we cannot move the cam around on the D-Lux. However, you can make a custom messenger with the cam on the left side (for lefties!).
If we custom a messenger with the cam on the left side, will the napoleon pocket be switched as well to access it with your right hand? Also, is this available on all sizes from XS and up on the classic messengers?
Unfortunately not. We can’t switch the zipper on the Napoleon pocket. Sorry! But the bag is still totally functional and many a left-handed users (including three folks in our office) have no issues with it.

Hey!! The messenger style bag is one of those bags which never gets too old in fashion and that is why it is still very popular. But it is difficult to find the right messenger bag for you with the classic messenger bag look.
