It’s like Snakes on a Plane but less terrifying. The bike to CalTrain move is a popular one in San Francisco. I recently had the privilege of testing it out and learned there is a serious ritual to riding the train with your bike!
1) Claim your route! If your route isn’t written (in blood) on your bike, other bikers get angry.
2) Mind your accessories. We all know bikers love to accessorize, but dropping a glove here and a reflective ankle strap there is terrible train etiquette.
3) Prepare to stop! Get your bike in the unloading position before your stop, lest you continue rocketing to the next destination.
4) Trains are pleasant! If you manage to catch the desired train on-time, it’s incredibly rewarding to stare aimlessly out the window or crush work on your laptop. Your choice.

Claiming it with style. Jessica’s top tube protector with snazzy embroidered route information puts hand-drawn routes to shame.
