We spent the morning with Leader Nancy Pelosi in Anchor Steam’s brew pub for a local manufacturers roundtable. We talked about the Make it in America agenda, tax credits, tariffs and the entrepreneurial spirit. There were giant American flags and we looked very smart in our business casual attire. Pelosi was was a joy to be with; she was interested, engaged and hungry for progress. We were so excited to be part of the event that we made this America Messenger bag. God Bless our San Francisco factory!

SFMade did a fantastic job bringing local manufacturers together for the event. It was helpful to learn what is/not working for fellow San Francisco manufacturers Anchor Steam, Ritual, McRoskey Matress Company, DODOcase, Boudin* and Rickshaw. Everyone showed their greatest made-in-San-Francisco hits.

We made America Anchor Steam sandwiches . . .

while Anchor’s wort wafted through the building. But it was too early to drink** so we all looked longingly at the Anchor Steam 10 am factory tour while sipping Ritual coffee. Ritual’s handsome bearded barista was a hit. So were his beans.

Meanwhile, Anchor Steam’s man Dave & Timbuk2′s lady Jenny had a friendly chat that quickly turned to business. Jenny: “Give it to me straight Dave. How many bags for one white hot jumpsuit?”

Boudin sourdough crabs threatened to bite.

And so did their turtles.

While Leader Pelosi dug in with 12 San Francisco manufacturers in Anchor Steam’s pub. Seating was oriented away from the bar.
