Comments about Candybar Backpack:

The backpack is perfect for my daily commute to work. It has a big front pocket with an organizer inside and a key faub. There's also a small hidden side pocket for easy access, which I use for my office entry card. The bag looks stylish and compact though there's lots of room inside. The only thing that I wish to have is a way of closing the main compartment shut, with a Velcro piece or zipper or whatever, so that no one can reach into the bag from the side. Also, the straps are very long and there's nothing to clip or tug them in. When I carry the backpack on one shoulder, the remaining part of the strap can almost touch the ground.

Comments about Candybar Backpack:

I bought this bag to commute to school with. It's cute and I like the pockets. But the waterbottle holder on the inside keeps binders and books from sliding in easily, and if a waterbottle is in the holder the binder just doesn't fit (it's a one inch binder). I wonder after class, while trying to get things back into the bag, will I make it to my bus on time?

    Comments about Candybar Backpack:

As woman who commutes by bus and by walking, and who doesn't want an over-the-shoulder bag, finding a backpack that fit my dimensions (I'm 5'5) which doesn't overwhelm me is hard. I have been searching for quite a while for a replacement for a 10+ year old stylish sport backpack that I have had mended repeatedly; decided it was time not only to stop repairing but to upgrade the look if at all possible. The company who made that backpack, while design-conscious, didn't have anything that would work for me do to my size, needs and my new desire for a more professional looking bag.

I tried out several different bags from a variety of makers, but it wasn't until I came across the Candybar (hard to search for women commuter backpacks on TImbuk2 FYI) that I had my answer.

I have been using it now for two weeks. My 13" laptop fits wonderfully (admittedly, I had to give up my Waterstreet sleeve and trust that titanium is an adequate defense—lol) and the bag is just the right size for my things, including my mason-jarred salad lunch. Originally worried about the straps being too small, not padded enough, or flimsy, but after two weeks, have found that fear to be unwarranted.

I would buy this again in a heartbeat, though probably in a different color (I bought one that looks great! but I worry about the white getting dirty and, as I am tired of being so conscious of where I am placing my bag.)

      Comments about Candybar Backpack:

I use this backpack to commute on Bart everyday-it fit everything I need for the workday (lunch, iPad, magazine, plethora of pens) and I do not hit other passengers because the backpack is perfect size. The one thing I would change would be to have the side size front pocket slightly larger and have the key fob in that location. Thanks!

      Comments about Candybar Backpack:

I have the old candybar in black, which I used to death for work, travel, gym (everything fits!) and because of that the velcro has worn out and it doesn't close properly now. I got around that by sewing on a clasp buckle, but the bottom is also tearing .Therfore you can imagine how happy I was when the new model came with the buckle closure for the main flap, and a funcky colour to boot! I was however dismayed that the zip opening for both the swingaround access and front phone pocket are on the opposite side to my old one. Because I sling my bag on my left shoulder it makes it hard to access my phone and ipad as the zips are away from me. Sometimes I worry that I will drop my stuff as access is so unreachable. I ended up using this only for work, but for travels I use my old black one as it is safer when I keep my passports and wallet in the ipad compartment.

      Comments about Candybar Backpack:

I wanted a backpack to save my shoulder, but not a clunky one. This is perfect for walking around a big convention or instead of a briefcase for work. While I drive to work, as a teacher I am always hauling things from my car to my upstairs classroom. This backpack is slim so I don't feel like a turtle, has a soft padded secure place for my iPad, and a roomy interior. It is SO much more convenient and comfortable than my briefcase. I am a 5'2" female and it is perfect for my frame. I only wish it had an outside pocket for a phone or sunglasses, and that it was just a tad bit bigger so the files or papers I put in with my iPad wouldn't scrunch a little. It is deep, so I use a separate purse organizer in a light color for my purse-stuff.

      Comments about Candybar Backpack:

For security when traveling, an inside zippered pocket, large enough for a passport and boarding passes would be great. It's a Goldilocks bag: just the right size. It is the only pack I've had that fits so well it doesn't need a half dozen clumsy straps to keep it from slipping and sliding while on a hike that has a few scrambles. My only serious complaint is that I can't have one customized, hope Timbuk2 changes it's mind about that.

        Comments about Candybar Backpack:

I adore this bag! I have a long BART commute and walk through the city to work, this bag comfortably holds everything I need. I keep my dslr, camera accessories, day to day needs, extra shoes, iPad mini, headphones, iPod, hairbrush, umbrella and clipper card all in one small light weight bag. The design is great.

My only complaint was the color. I went with the white, but when I received the bag the brown had bled onto the white leaving an orange stain. The white attracts dirt very badly no matter how careful you are to not let it touch anything. I emailed Timbuk2 about the stains and dirt issues and was told to use dish soap to clean it. I'd advise pretty much anyone who plans to use this daily to stay far away from the white. I've only had it a few weeks and it looks very dingy even after several cleanings.

        Comments about Candybar Backpack:

Replacement for my timbuk2 messenger bag which is now my gym bag.

Pros: I can fit everything from said messenger in the candybar and can walk even longer distances! I commute to and from work via transit and my two feet and this bag is awesome - it is very comfortable, and is sized right for people who don't like their backpack to smack their fanny. Speaking of smacking, I no longer smack anyone with my bag when the bus/train takes a turn. ;)

If I am not carting my laptop to and from work my current book and journal are tucked into the computer pouch all nice and snug!

Cons: Wish it had more pockets. Seriously. I'm a girl who carries a lot of stuff with me - meds, lip balm, headphones, kleenex, shopping bags, umbrella etc. Also the key fob clip should be in the front zipper pocket for easier access.

          Comments about Candybar Backpack:

I bought this backpack so that I could carry my laptop and other essentials to and from work. I either take public transit or I bike. Either way, this is the best bag I have ever bought. It fits snug to my back, fits as little or as much as I need it to (including my 13 inch laptop/tablet so don't let the title make you think it is too small). It doesn't feel heavy and prevents me from overloading it (which I have a tendency to do). My shoulders & back are much happier with me, and I have gotten so many compliments on how nice the bag is. I use it for personal & travel too because it is so versatile. Would buy again and recommend.
