Comments about Catapult Cycling Messenger Bag:

I use this as a lightweight day bag to carry a full size DSLR with 2 lens and a few accessories. Yes, there's no padding to protect the camera, but I'm it's only being carried for light hikes or from place-to-place while walking. The short height of the bag allows it to sit fairly high and comfortably on my mid/lower back.

The only major drawback is the strap is super super short. It fits me just right with it at its longest length; I'm light/med built so larger framed people may find the strap way too short making it impossible for it to fit them. It's borderline good (length) for me.

Love the product just waiting for new styles and colors for the large bag. Wish you could design your own. I have two and like to match with outfits. Just got an 13" MacBook Air so again just waiting for new designs which hopefully will come out Fall 2014. Also it's made in USA, so I'm all about the support.

Comments about Catapult Cycling Messenger Bag:

On the bike, this bag is great. It hugs your back and keeps your load close so it's comfortable. With a stabilization strap it isn't going anywhere. A larger U-lock tends to pull down on the flap and make the load wonky. However, off the bike the bag is just too shallow and wide. When you open up the front flap, everything just wants to spill out. There's really only enough space for the absolute bare essentials. You can't really overstuff this bag at all. For carrying around everyday essentials, I prefer my Express Shoulder bag.

Comments about Catapult Cycling Messenger Bag:

I use the bag to carry my computer - I often work in the local library. The bag is excellent. I noted that the only con is that it doesn't have enough room, but I deliberately chose a bag on the small side, so that's a criticism of myself, not the bag.

Comments about Catapult Cycling Messenger Bag:

The bag (large version) is the perfect size for my daily commute. Big enough to hold a 13" Macbook Air, an iPad, a notebook and other odds and ends used during the day. Organizers for the little things I carry in the bag all the time (adapters, small flashlight, ...).

The 13" MacBook Air fits nice and snug in the integrated sleeve (even though the size guide claims it does not). But that means no padding of any kind, not everybody is comfortable with that. For me this works quite well.

Adding a some spare clothes starts to push the bag to it's limits, and when it's really full I stop trusting the velcros to hold everything in place. I use a spare buckle strap for these situations to make sure the bag stays tight. I have not yet tried using the U-Lock holders, that will also make sure the bag stays closed.

The cross strap holds it nicely in place, the bag feels comforable while riding a bike, and as it's worn high on the back and is very slim it does not affect my balance or add too much drag. The weight distributes well and the strap is padded enough to make it comfortable without being too bulky.

The only downside is the short strap, at 6'2" and 220 lbs I needed the strap fully extended to comfortably wear it. But then the quick release buckle does not really work anymore as there is no belt to extend. Pulling the bag to the front to grab something out or pulling the strap over my head with a helmet still on was a challenge. I contacted Timbuk2 and they sent me a longer replacement strap. With the longer strap the bag is just perfect even given my size.

Comments about Catapult Cycling Messenger Bag:

I have the all grey version. I use this to carry a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 tablet, MiFi and power cord. I have room for 8.5x11" papers and pockets to keep it tidy with a zipper to make it secure. It stays close, does not move around like a loose fitting messenger and works equally well to walk to bike with it. I get many compliments on this bag as it is one few around my rural Oregon area are used to seeing.
