See if you qualify for a Timbuk2 warranty repair and contact warranty@timbuk2.com.

    Comments about Classic Messenger Bag:

I use this bag everyday for all of the things I need to have on me. I am the adoptive mother of 8 and this bag has a place for everything. It holds my planner and notebooks, in and outgoing mail, the occasional diapers or sippy cups and toys. I has more than enough pockets for my wallet, kids meds, lotion and chapstick, and my drink. It is super durable, easy to clean and doesn't attract dog hair. The shoulder pad on the strap is a luxury and my neck and shoulders thank you. I honesrly always liked the Timbuktu design so when I checked the out the thing the really sold we was that they came in different sizes and all measurements were listed. I paid a lot for my last bag and my planner didn't fit so I was constantly fumbling with that, the bag, and all the kids stuff. His bag was made for me though is not custom. Beyond perfect!

    Comments about Classic Messenger Bag:

I got a custom, medium bag because none of the standard color options were bright enough to use for commuting by bicycle (I went with safety orange and reflective stuff), and as a replacement for the Especial Messenger that I received as a gift that was a bit too big. The medium is large enough for the things I need for work (planner, lunch, pens/pencils, a notebook, a sweatshirt or change of clothes, other various things), and I'm reasonably certain it'll fit my U-lock as well. Lots of pockets, and it holds my laptop no problem, though with less room for other things. It works well as a day-to-day bag, and I've used it as a carry-on as well.

Downsides: The bag itself is kind of heavy. The elastic in one of the internal bottle holders doesn't have a lot of give in it, so you're limited in what you can put in it. (It works well for glasses cases, though, and I just use the other one for water bottles/travel mugs.) The option of a waist strap would be nice, since the sternum and shoulder straps really aren't enough to hold it in place if there's anything heavy in it...like a laptop or a U-lock. (At least, on a road bike, which is what I commute on.) The other big downside (and why I haven't actually used it on the bike yet) is that cam buckle. It feels cheap, and it doesn't seem to close firmly, and if you bump it or tug on the strap the wrong way, the bag drops, which would be a bit of a problem while biking home. It's particularly an issue when there's anything heavy/bulky in the bag--laptop, heavy sweater, U-lock, that kind of thing. I far prefer the more robust buckle on the Especial Messenger, which is sadly discontinued. Finally, my bag is < 6 months old (and has only been used daily for about 4 of those), and it's fraying around the seams. I'd understand it if it was the Velcro pulling at threads, but the hook side of the velcro is on the bag itself, where it can't do that.

Bottom line is: Not a bad bag, but there's room for improvement

          Comments about Classic Messenger Bag:

I bought a small custom messenger bag in 2013 which I used everyday for work for 3 years. I got this bag(medium) just to change things up.

          Pros:
          Cool design/color/material
          Light weight
          Clean buckle set up

          Cons (compared to 2013 version):
          Less interior pockets
Pockets are smaller despite a bigger bag
Soft strap (I personally prefer the stiffer strap)
Strap adjustment lock doesn't feel like it definitively locks
Zippers feel cheaper - not as smooth as before
          Cheap handle feels flimsy

Timbuk2 is still a great bag overall.

            Comments about Classic Messenger Bag:

This is a great bag that I use for day to day to the office, then to school, as well as a carry on when travelling. It's roomy enough to fit my work laptop as well as water bottle, wallet, novel, and a electronics pouch. I love all the compartments and the strap is really nice and comfy. The pattern is unique and I've gotten a lot of complements on it. The only con that I can think of is that the snap that you use to adjust the length of the strap is easily bumped and sometimes can be opened very easily and then my bag just drops as the strap lengthens. I'm hoping that it'll just be something that I will get used it.

                Comments about Classic Messenger Bag:

I was looking for a 'man bag' to carry all my daily essentials, MacBook, compact camera, mobile phone, book, paper & pens, deodorant etc.

I wanted a high quality and stylish messenger type shoulder bag. Nothing I found around town fitted my needs.

The classic messenger bags looked perfect on the Timbuk2 website, exactly what I had been looking for, so I ordered the medium 'nautical' classic bag. I always prefer to see an item in the flesh before buying! So it was a huge gamble!

When the bag arrived my expectations were exceeded, it was perfect! High quality, super cool and stylish, ample
compartments and the strap is ideal too.

Buy with confidence! I've had my bag almost a year now and use it daily....and it's as good as new.
