Comments about Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014:

This bag is my main means of carrying a laptop, iPad, and accessories. Its well made, roomy, and easy to load/unload.the only reason I rated it as a 4-star is the bag feels out of balance when carrying the laptop. Also the front accessory panels, when fully loaded, tend to collapse the front of the bag when opened.

Comments about Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014:

I bought this bag since i work in the technology field and needed a big bag to carry my MAC and windows PC. It carries everything plus more with all the storage compartments. Just the strap is an issue. I can't get it to not hang low because the padding along with the two straps causes me not to be able to stick either under the padding. So it limits me to just all long lengths

When I had my second kid I had a rough time finding a diaper bag big enough, and functional enough for all the things I wanted to have on hand.

This bag has become my dream diaper bag. I got a size large, and it is pretty large. But I have absolutely everything I need, plus the other stuff that inevitably ends up in there.

Down the road I can use it as an overnight bag. Win, win!

Comments about Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014:

Great overall bag, but the ripping sound of velcro is annoying. I had to buy the velcro silencers, which I think should be included with every bag. Other than my issue with the velcro, this messenger bag is solid. The TSA features are great, holds my 13 inch MacBook Pro, IPad mini with power cords. The main pockets holds my travel shaving/toiletry kit, a complete change of clothes, (jeans, shirt, boxers, socks). Yep, I have serious packing skills. Oh yeah, it also holds my headphones and snacks. This bag also has the right amount of interior pockets for all my miscellaneous stuff. This small messenger bag fits my needs perfectly.

I used as a personal bag with a small 16 inch spinner carry on on a 3 day trip to NYC. Great to navigate the airport with the spinner bag. Then, once in NYC, it was perfect to use in the subway and walking around the City (which required some rain gear on a wet day)

Comments about Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014:

I owned a Tumi bag for years then switched to a Northface backpack when I started traveling more. Fast forward 5 more years and suits/sportcoats are the norm when traveling and a backpack is not stylish and wears on suit material.

My wife bought a T2 bag and I liked the overall look and feel of the product. I would have loved to customize my bag but could not justify the $$$$$$ (make it 15% less $ and I would have done it).

I like the bag but find there are 3 problems:
              1. Having the Laptop compartment on the back of the bag means there is a large flat surface that rides against my body when I carry the bag. It would be nice to have more padding or more contour. It feels like I have an 8' 2x4 riding on my hip when I carry the bag
              2. More compartments! Don't the designers use laptops? Dell power supplies are junk but guess what, 90% of business travelers use them and the provided compartments barely fit the PS and cords.
              3. Take the Velcro off the front of the bag. Having the unbuckle and un-Velcro the bag is a major PITA. I like the buckles but can't stand having to pull bag the glue-like Velcro 5-6 times a day when I am in and out of my bag.

Overall it is a welcome upgrade from a backpack for business travel. I will still keep my NF Surge backpack for when I travel for personal reasons.

Comments about Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014:

The computer sleeve touches the ground when bag on floor. It should be suspended. The zipper tag broke off in week 3. Locating the computer on the backside of bag has pros and cons. Good for TSA not comfortable against back. I hope you bring back the molded back of the pack for comfort and security. Also, this bag should have the waist strap option.

Comments about Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014:

This bag was purchased in an effort to find a smaller 14" laptop (ThinkPad T430s) messenger that would still hold my other daily walk+bus commute items (lunch, rain coat, coffee, etc). To that end, I've been pretty satisfied. The inner netting pockets work fine for holding the AC adapter, and the coffee mug stays put in the bottle holder.

I'm a big fan of small organizer pockets, and there's a fair number of them...but your items must be flat. The big barrier for calling this a great airplane bag is lack of a 'dump pocket' for going through security - an easily accessible medium-sized exterior pocket to stow wallet, watch, keys, etc. Granted, with Timbuk2's trademark messenger design that's difficult to implement, but it's none-the-less a downside compared to other bags.

Finally, one minor improvement would be some elastic band to secure the flailing tail from the flap clip straps. If walking through a quiet area - the constant THWAP (imagine comic book lettering here) with every step can be a bit annoying.

There's no perfect bag, so while there's improvements that could be made, I'd still buy this bag again. It's compact, yet still roomy enough to handle a day's typical items. And a solid looking design!
