Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

I purchased this bag in November of 2014, and was initially very happy. The rear (against your body) zip pocket easily fit both my laptop (13" Macbook Air) and iPad. The bag was great for commuting, and in general fit my idea of what a Timbuk2 bag is and should be.

However, approximately a year later, the reflective binding (the part that goes around the flap) that I added to my custom bag began to wear, and eventually tore off in some places. I've been a Timbuk2 customer for years, and they have always stood by their product... BUT something has changed, and the customer service I have experienced is appalling. Emails have gone unanswered for months, and follow ups have been ignored. I'm not sure what has happened to the once-great Timbuk2 customer service, but it's not the same as it once was. If you buy this bag, I suggest avoiding the reflective bits around the flap, and not attempting to use it on a bike - there's no cross strap, and no ring to add your own.

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

This was originally intended for me to use as a carry-on bag for a trip to the UK, thus the waterproof fabric. It's too heavy with not enough compartments, and with extreme Velcro (not discussed in the video). My husband is using it for a brief commute and he complains that is is uncomfortable, but it is nicer looking than his backpack. My main advice: do not customize unless you've tried the bag before. If you customize the bag, you cannot return it.

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

I bought this bag to use for bicycle commuting to work everyday as this brand was recommended by many people I know. I love that it is big and fits a lot of stuff so I can stick my groceries in the bag too when I'm done with work. There are a lot of pockets which I was really excited for, but, they all seem a little small. I end up using the drink holders inside as pockets instead. The front pocket part when filled full is really, really floppy... I feel like I'm gonna lose stuff. I was mostly really disappointed with the strap. I bought the extra cushy padding to put over top but with it on my strap doesn't get short enough... well turns out even with it off my strap still at it's shortest isn't short enough for me. Because it doesn't get short enough to be tight on me it then flops around while I'm cycling... not good. I'm not a very big person so perhaps this is why I have strap issues. Even with the cross strap it fits me weird I love how it looks and the material seems and looks really high quality. I will unfortunately go back to my good ole' Chrome bag instead and perhaps gift this one to a friend.

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

I specifically bought this because it was TSA Compliant and I shouldn't have to remove my laptop from the bag, if used as the company states. In 4 trips thus far (9 TSA Checkpoints), I have had to remove my laptop from the bag.

Also, Though i bought the bag based on my laptop, the bag has an extremely tight fit, so wish there was a little more room. a little difficult to get my laptop in and out, but thinking with some use, the bag will stretch out a bit.

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

Great for daily wanderings. Totting whatever I require. Tough fabric resists abrrasion and stains. Weather resistant. Easily adjustable shoulder strap. Cushioned area fantastic. Love the top handle and rear open access pocket.
Too much Velcro, hard to open with one hand. Inner water bottle mesh should be slightly longer.

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

Great Bag! This is the fourth addition to my Timbuk2 bags, and I love it the most! I like the separate compartment for the computer--it keeps the feeling while you wear it that it is balanced--and not all falling forward towards the middle of the main compartment. The pockets and compartments are fantastic where everything is and just the right amount( especially the padded phone compartments). I would have loved to get this bag left handed, but there wasn't an option, or to get the main top flap from the standard commute bag (just a different shape) --but other than that I am super excited, and use it everyday! Great purchase!

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

The bag is really cute, and holds a lot. However it ripped the first time I used it! I was so disappointed. Also a snag on the front panel. Very low quality materials. Not at all what I expected. Since I designed it online, it's non-returnable. Otherwise it would be going back. The 'lock' on the strap that keeps the length adjusted slips a lot also. Really bummed. I'm in law school and also travel...was hoping this bag could be my sturdy companion.

Comments about Custom Commute Laptop Messenger Bag:

The one and only thing I would change about this bag is that I think the laptop pocket should be moved from the outside of the back compartment to the inside of the back compartment. I bought the bag knowing full well that my laptop was just one tenth of an inch too big for the pocket, hoping it would fit anyway. Unfortunately it doesn't, however if I separate the Velcro in the two slot pocket on the other side of the compartment it fits perfectly and it has slightly more protection than the outside. I absoutly love that back compartment, it is so convenient to get my laptop or my tablet without opening the front of the bag.

              What's this all about?

Created in reaction to the rise of mighty TSA in American airports, our new Commute is approaching perfection. Its laptop compartment unzips to lie flat so you don't have to remove your laptop at airport security, and its waterproof TPU flap keeps your gear dry in a drizzle. Additionally, it has external water bottle pockets and a silly amount of internal organization for pens, mice, cords, and bades, and our beleoved red key fob. Thou shall never dig for thy keys or be last through the security line again.
