    Comments about Custom Tartine Tote:

I've been searching since my kid was born for a travel bag that could lug my 12" laptop, all my flight stuff, and all my son's snacks/ iPad/ coloring book. BINGO BANGO. My MacBook Air fits perfectly in the laptop compartment, and my kid's iPad in its foam case fits in the bag with the zipper zipped—and there's plenty of room to spare. This tote fits under airplane seats, no problem. I added a cross-body strap and a padded Custom Strap Pad in XS/S: It makes all the difference when the bag is full. Totally recommend without hesitation.

        Comments about Custom Tartine Tote:

It's fun choosing colors for Timbuk2 bags, and they are always personal.

This time, however, I think I came up with a design that was really pretty good: light denim, black bottom, straps and trim, orange interior (to be able to find things!) and white vinyl reflective outside pocket. I wasn't sure how the pocket would look with its high reflective grid design, but it really looked great and gave pizzazz to the denim. It was also very useful for holding my boarding passes.

The bag fit my Macbook Air if I inserted it thin edge first, and the rest of the bag, the light denim material, was soft and comfy to carry. I am very pleased with this bag.

I bought this as a gift. I took a good look at the bag once I received it though and was happy that it looked just as I had hoped. The colors and materials I selected were as anticipated. There didn't seem to be anything lost in the translation between my computer screen and the real bag. I will likely make future purchases for others as well as for myself.

            Comments about Custom Tartine Tote:

Love the size of this bag. I have a larger tote from Timbuk2 that was just too wide for the Subway in NYC. This one is more compact and holds just about the same amount of stuff. My one request for the bag would be to add a key fob, I find them so convienent and love bags that have them built in.

Since this is a custom bag, I was able to pick out some great fabrics, but I do wish it was built with a bit more care. The seam on the piping is not finished and will eventually fray. The main panels were not sewn correctly and bunch around the sides and top. These little details are important.

            Comments about Custom Tartine Tote:

I've been downsizing everything. I don't carry a purse. I work a full-time 2nd-shift job at a University and I homeschool my 6/7th grader during the day. My life is full and I am often out of the home for 12 or more hours a day. I need to carry a dinner, a water bottle, an umbrella, various school books and materials for prepping, and office-lady sundries like a sweater/snacks/monthly products. I wanted ONE bag to do all of the above and look sharp enough to walk into my business casual office every day. So, I orded this one to match the bulk of my office capsul. And for the most part, it is great. The strap drop is long enough that it actually fits over your shoulder. The extra add-on sing strap is comfortable even without a strap pad (I am rather busty and small straps can dig cross-body). I fillthe bag daily and it DOES hold everything I need, including a lunch packed in a Bento tower box. That being said, it has drawbacks. I got the black interiois because I have owned several Timbuk2 bags and know how quickly a light interior gets shabby. Well, it's a pitch black cave. Hard to find things. There are NO pen slots, only larger slash pockets, whcih means my pens bounce out and around the bag. I got recycled, sturdy poly fabric, so my bag isn't very floppy but I can tell the interior pockets will sag with use. There's no key tab inside this bag (really, guys, come on...pt these in EVERY bag. Quit teasing us with only SOME models having a key strap.) The top of my bag has at least two skipped stitches, leaving big loops, in the seam. And the top binding (all around the bag, covering the seam that joins zip top to bag body) is not fold-over lining. Its raw edges are showing and they were not cut all that straight. They're jagged and I suspect they may eventually fray. At any rate, I was suprised at the inattention to finishing detail on that...feels cheap. This is my first custom bag, but our sixth Timbuk2 in the family and I was kind of dissapointed at the quality. It works, its my only bag and I carry it daily but I know I'll be looking for a replacement and I meant this one to last for years.

            Comments about Custom Tartine Tote:

I bought this bag for travel. Overall it is good. The extra shoulder strap I purchased was useless. Thankfully I discovered that before I left on my trip. I took the one off by computer bag that I purchased here the year before. That worked well. Interesting they were the same price. The one I received with this bag was a simple strap matching the fabric of the handles. To use this for cross body carrying would have been really uncomfortable. The strap was 1 inch wide and thin with no extra padding for comfort.

The other thing that really does not make sense is a water bottle holder inside the bag. This requires you to unzip the bag to access it. This is not always convenient. Also - should the bottle unscrew or open for any reason everything inside the bag is gone. So much more convenient if this feature was on the outside of the bag so you could grab it with minimal effort and hassle.

I loved that the top zipped shut. I was not sure of that. This was a major bonus especially when walking around markets in foreign countries.

Great tote to take to work. I can fit my purse, lunch, and all the extras with room left over.

I wish the bottle holder was slightly larger to accommodate a small coffee thermos.

Would definitely recommend this attractive tote!

              Comments about Custom Tartine Tote:

I wish the straps were wider to make carrying heavier loads more comfortable. I know you can buy strap cushion-pad-things to help, but those never stay in place for me and the Velcro attracts fuzz. Since I use this bag for work, fuzz-laden Velcro is not optimal.

              Everything else I love!
