Comments about Especial Medio Cycling Laptop Backpack:

I use the pack to hold my belongings during my 12 mile each way bike commute. The great parts about the bag are that it keeps stuff dry in heavy rains, holds everything I need for work including clothes, lunch, extra bike clothes, and sometimes my laptop. It also looks nice.

I used to swear by messenger bags, but I found that the bag covering my bike during hot Virginia summer rides caused me to get hotter and sweatier than I wanted. This bag has a curve in the back that helps keep it off your back allows a small amount of ventilation. You still get a sweaty back on hot days, but I find myself more comfortable than when using a messenger bag.

The fit of the bag is fairly nice. One complaint I have is that when I ride my bike with my hands on the tops, my helmet rubs against the top of the bag. I had to loosen the shoulder straps quite a bit to lower the bag to the point where it did not hit my helmet all the time. I have a very short torso so people longer on top shouldn't have this problem.

I also find that the bag bobs up and down quite a bit when I am riding out of the saddle up hill. This does not happen when the bag is fuller and heavier.

This is the first bag that has allowed me to comfortably carry my laptop while riding my bike. The weight gets nicely spread out over parts of your body and I find that I forget I have a computer on my back.

Overall a great bag. I just hope the zippers last a long time. I'm used to buying new Timbuk2 bags not when they wear out but rather when I get bored and want a new bag. The zippers have me worried that the streak will be broken

Would have given it 5 stars if nicer zippers and slightly smaller in height.

Overall a pretty decent bag. The only issue is that when it's not very heavy -- like when I leave my laptop at work -- it kind of rides up and the shoulder straps rub into my neck when riding and turning my head (which happens quite a bit in the city).

Comments about Especial Medio Cycling Laptop Backpack:

Great, great bag, which is marketed for bike use; this however masks the other function for which it is best suited, traveling.

I use it as my carry-on personal item. Whether I check-in a luggage with me in the cabin or not, airlines will always take a backpack. If you don't stuff this one to an inch of its life, it'll be fine.

I put passport, notepad, pens, MP3 player, phone, keys in the organization compartment, toiletries (in the transparent bag) in the expandable front pocket, tickets + papers in the napoleon pocket.
This leaves the large compartment which can easily take headphones, 3 days' worth of clothes, and a decent camera, or less clothes and an SLR (albeit without the dedicated protection a camera bag would offer). The top pocket is for sunglasses and potentially cables, and the secret stash pocket is where the phone goes.

I've not worn it yet for extensive periods of time. It is not a backpacking bag, more of a commute/travel bag to me (outside of its primary goal as a weatherproof biking bag of course).
Either way, this bag has made transcontinental airplane travel more pleasant. I'm trying hard to think of any 'wish it had' features, but can't. I feel that if the bag were bigger it'd be a tougher sell as a personal item on a plane. And due to the compression straps, it doesn't need to be made smaller; it won't take up more space than what you put in it.

Overall a great bag which has single-handedly replaced all bags I'd taken on airplanes before.

I find all the pockets to be useful and well thought out to (a) keep the bag slim but large and (b) easily access while on a bike (at a stop of course).

It's incredibly comfortable despite it's weight (which is expected of a bag this size).

Comments about Especial Medio Cycling Laptop Backpack:

I have to say I'm impressed. Especial Medio is a proof that you don't have to sacrifice aesthetics for functionality. It has the best features and thought-out layout of pockets while it keeps the best looking design to my eyes.

What I like the most is that there are more pockets at the top, inside and outside, that are accessible when it's put on the ground.

Things can be messy at the bottom of the bag, but I use a bag-in-bag anyway (a felt organizer from invite.L) so it's not a problem for me.

I take it with me all the time whenever I go out, but it shines best when used for subway commute in Manhattan. I don't feel the weight of 15" MacBookPro like other messenger bags / backpacks do!

Highly recommended or... should I keep it to myself because I can't brag about it if everyone has the same product? ;)

Comments about Especial Medio Cycling Laptop Backpack:

Overall good product, but as pointed out in some youtube videos - the shoulder straps are positioned too narrow for my neck, so it pinches my lower back neck. (I am 6,4' with 150lbs so very slender).
I like the red fabric "inside" in the blue version - so it not that dark inside...

Overall I'm really happy with this setup, only two minor gripes:

            1. Main compartment zippers should go length of pack for easier access and loading
            2. Straps and zippers are kind of loud when walking, a lot of stuff swinging around!

Comments about Especial Medio Cycling Laptop Backpack:

I recently purchased this pack for my 15 miles ( about 50 minute) each-way bike commute to work. I typically pack my laptop, extra charger, snacks and a change of clothes for when I get to work. I am 5ft 9 inches, about 135 pounds, female. Most of the path I ride is sidewalk style with a good amount of bumps and climbing.
So, I love all the storage this pack offers and it fits a TON of stuff. BUT, the straps are painful, and there is not nearly enough padding on the back panel. I actually had bruising on my spine after 1 day worth of commuting. I tried cinching the straps up high, making them more relaxed- nothing worked and the pack was uncomfortable and downright painful for most of the commute. I am a strong woman, and a pretty average size and I felt like even on a man my size the back panel design of this pack would be lacking the appropriate fit. I'll need to continue my search for a more comfortable pack now.
