Warranty Repair

Timbuk2 products have a lifetime warranty; we stand behind the legendary quality and craftsmanship of all our products. But we also embrace the wild, twisty ways of life. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship of your Timbuk2 product (gasp!), you can file a claim by completing Timbuk2's warranty repair claim. If your product meets Timbuk2's warranty policy, we will repair your bag. If your Timbuk2 product is damaged during a normal or abnormal adventure, you will not qualify for a warranty replacement, but you will have epic stories to tell your friends. See if you qualify for a Timbuk2 warranty repair and contact warranty@timbuk2.com.

Please note that we also have a handful of non-Timbuk2 manufactured products, such as Blue Bottle and New Balance shoes, included on the website. While we love these products and think they’re awesome, they’re not covered under our lifetime warranty.

    Comments about Especial Raider Backpack:

I bought two for a trip, one for me, one for my partner. Within five days, one of the bags got a rip in the front pocket, in the front, not a seam or a zipper. It's not like the bag was abused either! I was told the bag wouldn't be covered by the warranty. Se la vie, whatever. I won't buy anything from this company again. There are better travel bags out there.

Also the front pockets are useless, too loose and small.

        Comments about Especial Raider Backpack:

I have long wanted to try this pack but never pulled the trigger until a recent sale made it silly not too.

When I first received it I thought it maybe wouldn't suit my needs but I have been very impressed with the bag so far. I use it to haul groceries at the moment as cycling in the snow and ice is better balanced with a backpack than a messenger when hauling awkward items.

I've also used it on several 7 mile trail hikes, runs, and a snow shoeing trip. It's lightweight, very comfortable, and carries just what I need ably without a bunch of frill features.

I already own the rain cover so it's lack of water resistance isn't an issue for me. The rain cover is worth it's price, I use it on my messenger bag as well. Not so much for keeping the contents dry, but so not to have to dry the bag out while traveling or carrying a dripping wet bag into work when getting caught in heavy rains.

The bag is very lightweight, which is a feature I didn't really think I'd care as much about as I do. That's why it makes a great trail running/hiking pack. The water bottle / external access pockets are stretchy and secure, the shoe pockets inside also double as bottle carriers and organizers for food/snacks/etc allowing the main hold for jackets and sweaters while not having to have to dig for smaller items and snacks.

The helmet attachment is genius and I am impressed beyond words by the design of the bag.

        Comments about Especial Raider Backpack:

I travel a lot and this goes everywhere I go as it rolls up into my suitcase taking up no space at all unlike these large stiff backpacks. Very handy when going out to explore and you just want to bring water, a map and a camera. When cycling it is comfortable and has room for what I need. The only thing I don't like is the key chain which gets caught in the zip for the upper pocket all the time. Also, I wish Timbuck2 would advise how much weight I can safely put into this bag. I bring a large camera and lens with me and although it appears very well made and strong I do wonder if I am pushing the boundaries on what is safe to carry.

          Comments about Especial Raider Backpack:

I own 5 Timbuk2 bags. I had been on the fence about this one, but having used it, I totally get it now.

To me, a successful bag's hallmark is whether you find yourself adjusting yourself and habits around the bag, or whether the bag fits you. While I love my TB2 messengers, I've always had to make an adjustment or two to get them to work well for me- figuring out where to sit them on my back, how to pack my belonging into them comfortably, what to do with my u-lock, etc. The Raider however is definitely the latter.

The clothes packing cube, designated shoe pockets, upper zip pocket, and deep exterior water bottle mesh pockets are well designed, and just as importantly, well executed (ie, not cheapo quality or cool concept sans functionality).

It's a bag that does exactly what it says it will. It fit my change of clothes, shoes, work laptop (albeit, mine is tiny- check the fit guide to be sure for yours), toiletries, and some snacks. The top zip pocket was perfect for wallet, keys, and phone. It's lightweight, comfortable on the back, and has nice extras like helmet holding velcro loops and reflective hits on the bottom.

If you want a commuting bag with these specs, look no further. If you want a workhorse, perhaps check out the Especial line or something more heavy duty. But again, bravo to TB2 on this one- a clever, no-frills commuter bag that delivers on its promises.

            Comments about Especial Raider Backpack:

I cycle to work 2X a week. The round trip distance is around 20 miles. I push myself to get a maximum workout hence shower at the gym and new change of clothes is needed. This is the exact backpack I was looking for. Comfortable, agile and stealth with logistical pockets of storage. I'm thinking about buying one more when and if they go on sale as I hate it if this design gets disconnected. As a point of reference, I had another backpack from another brand and I saw it falling apart so I switched and what a difference!

In hindsight, I would have bought a larger pack but for the size and its use, long 40km commute to work (road cycling) its perfect. Wouldnt recommend overloading the pack.

Now an official winner of the International Design Excellence Award!
We earned a Silver Award in the Personal Accessories category from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). Designed in collaboration with San Francisco's Mission Cycling Club, the Raider Pack frees you to get in a pre-work ride without weighing you down.
Weighing less than a pound, the Raider Pack was named after Mission Cycling's morning "raids" up to the to the top of the Marin Headlands before work. Cooked up over a post-ride breakfast at a San Francisco neighborhood café, Timbuk2 and Mission Cycling were sweaty, tired, and sick of carrying their street clothes in bulky backpacks built for hiking. Understanding the need for a small, lightweight commuter pack that could hold the day's essentials without slowing down the pre-work ride, this pack was born.
