Comments about Especial Tres Cycling Backpack 2014:

After Timbuk2 started having their bags made overseas, the quality has gone down. I had this bag for 2 months before it started falling apart and literally coming apart at the seams. I used it for commuting and was not too rough with it so I expected it to last much longer. The customer service team has been great with getting it repaired (it took forever though), but from here on out, unless I buy a custom bag that is still made in the US, I won't be buying Timbuk2 again. Which makes me super sad... :(

Comments about Especial Tres Cycling Backpack 2014:

I've had the bag for more than 3 months, and have been carrying it every day as I would any backpack. My one true complaint is that I would like to keep the waist straps attached to the bag, but they keep unfolding from their elastic-band-keepers and they become a minor nuisance when not in use and dragging across my rear and hamstrings. Other bags handle the hip/waist straps better. I don't want to take them off because I will use them from time to time and like any take-off item, I wouldn't have them when I wanted them.

The second, and far more minor, improvement I would make is to make the side water-bottle pocket and U-lock combo a little deeper to better secure tall water bottles.

Another improvement I would make is to make the side zipper at an angle that would permit access to the laptop pocket, not to the general main pocket as the current design is laid out.

The Roll-top I thought would be a moderately annoying feature, but I've actually found that I like it and the quality of the velcro on the rolls allows me to roll it up quickly and without hassle. The expansion zippers seem strong and have seen a little use.

The 40L size is great, still airline overhead likely, and it permits me to travel with a weekend's worth of clothes… 32-35L bags are a really nasty and tight fit to get a pair of men's 12 running/riding shoes with the same clothing set.

Pricey but quality, but not perfect, from a back-pack perfectionist with rather high standards. Its held up as well as any bag in its price range should - for the short duration I've owned it.

Comments about Especial Tres Cycling Backpack 2014:

It came as a little surprise when I opened the box to see that it was a much larger bag than I had thought, and it seemed as though it would be too bulky and heavy. However after using it on quick commutes on a nimble bicycle on the city streets, I'm finding its bulkiness as I ride, not that significant (provided it's not loaded heavily). It has many compartments, and quick-access zippers, making unrolling the top unnecessary at times. The fasteners at the top and around the waist fit comfortably and snug. It's also very light for a bag its size. The two side pockets can be accessed without having to take it off my shoulders. I was pleased after all, and I'm glad I purchased it.

Comments about Especial Tres Cycling Backpack 2014:

I use this product almost daily for my bike commutes around town. I decided to retire my Timbuk2 Classic Messenger due to shoulder problems so I went with the best backpack on the market. I was apprehensive of the bag at first because it is really big. Luckily I'm 6'3" so it doesn't look overly bulky on me. The bag is naturally heavy which can be annoying at times but I don't really notice it after wearing it for a few minutes. I love the stiffness and durability of the bag. I get compliments from a lot of my friends about it and other people just don't understand what kind've bag it is. So far I have not encountered a commute trip where I couldn't fit everything I wanted into the bag. I plan to take this bag to Europe with me and do some backpacking with it there. The only thing I would change is to possible make the natural weight of the empty bag lighter and make the front extra pocket a tad bit bigger. Other than that this is the best bag I've ever owned.

Comments about Especial Tres Cycling Backpack 2014:

So you don't realize how massive it is until you open it yourself. From the computer screen it didn't look all THAT big. But its massive. I love it so much for now and hope that it continues to deliver as well as it does now.

The only "problem" is that the outer pocket gets pressed up against the outside so that I can't get into it, when the main compartment is full. One other small inconvenience, which isn't all that bad, is the presence of only one main compartment- since I need to carry multiple changes of clothing, when I change, its a little annoying to have to remove everything just to put dirty clothes at the bottom when if I could, just throw it into a divider inside the bag. Something like that.

Otherwise, its all good for now.
