What's this all about?

Small but mighty, the Navigator Duffel Bag packs a massive punch. Toted by the handles or packed on the back, the Navigator is compact but surprisingly spacious and its sophisticated styling that works downtown or way way out of town. The Timbuk2 team has tested it on weekend jaunts to Los Angeles and ten day treks across Asia, and managed to look prepared and presentable in both cases. The backpack straps easily clip in for a secure carry and are a cinch to tuck away when you don't need them. The large internal main compartment is wide and long enough for a range of clothing, even fitting a 15" MacBook if you fancy. The two external zipper pockets provide excellent areas for compressing underwear, down items, or power bricks and dongles. And the bottom zipper compartment holds magazines, shoes, or boarding passes, and magically doubles as an envelope for stuffing and storing the whole duffel. Who doesn't need an amazing navigator in their life?

Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I've been a long time fan of another bag maker, but I found myself outgrowing my old bag and couldn't find what I was needing in their store.

An internet search for bag retailers led me to Velotek + in Lenexa, KS. They took the time to show me Timbuk2 bags, so I went home and looked at the website. Unfortunately their provider couldn't get them the Navigator, so I ordered it online.

I was a bit leary about getting an entirely open duffel design as I'd become used to tue dividers in my old bag. But it has worked out so much better than I could have hoped, and the fact of having a backpack straps available is such a great option.

It holds all my stuff for work, and still has room for some groceries, or beer on thd way home from work. And I only got the Small one.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile, roomy, and very handy bag for work or a weekend trip.

    Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

This very adaptable bag is big, and perfect for a long weekend away!
I got the dark blue with fun orange trim, I think they are discontinuing this combo which is a real shame - the blue is fantastic. It's durable, roomy, and folds in on itself for super flat storing. I know they still offer it in black, so get you one.

      Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I purchased the small size for weekend trips and it will fit everything that I need perfectly. I wish it had a regular shoulder strap, but I think I get use out of the backpack feature. I don't love this as much as my medium Timbuk2 BFD duffel (I wish Timbuk2 still made them - I'd get those in every size!!), but that is too large for short trips. This bag will definitely meet my needs.

        Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I was switched on to Timbuk2 about a year ago when I got bored with the mundane computer and backpacks that I, and everyone else, seemed to be toting their essential bits and bobs around in on a daily basis. I first bought a Timbuk2 Messenger bag and then, as it was on a special deal, I bought the Navigator Duffel Bag.

I've had it for about 3 months and I just love it. Its perfect for overnights or even a few days away. You can carry it on to planes and, with it being super soft, it can crush down so takes up minimal space. I put my messenger(and all its goodies) inside and, with the backpack straps out, I'm hands free. In fact at first I thought they were more of a gimmick but if the bag gets heavy and cumbersome they are a life saver.

        Buy it, and travel easier...

First impression, I thought this was small, but when I started throwing my packing cubes in there. It was holding up and realized there was more room available.
outside pockets are a bit funky. no interior pockets. the smaller packing cubes will have to handle all the loose items.
Love the loops on handles. allows me to attach my carabiners for shoes/helmet/waterbottles/etc..

            Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

this is a mighty big bag.
with a few yoga moves i could probably fit into it.
i originally purchased it to transport a specific item, yet the item didn't fit. though that is alright, 'cause its a well constructed bag that i can use for extended day trip land travel.
the end pocket for shoes or extras is brilliant.
the shoulder straps are a nice addition and comfortable.
the side pockets are roomy, though their covers are a little awkward.
the fold and stow pocket is very convenient.
if it doesn't fit everything to keep you covered on a trip, i don't know what you need.

              Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I use the bag for short trips (2-7days) and use it to carry clothes and some camera gear. The bag, as is typical of Timbuktu products, is well-built and lightweight; the side pockets with weather protection is also cool. I use the underside flap for storing few documents that I don't have to take out every now and then. The shoulder straps to carry the duffel bag as a backpack is also a great addition; this allows me to carry my gear and clothes easily (instead of dragging them on the road) on short trips and not worry about leaving anything at the hotel or room. While suitcases with rollers are nice as you can avoid carrying it, if you are a bit adventurous and want to roam around a city, take pictures and move around a lot, even having a lighter suitcase is not really helpful. Duffels especially ones that you can carry as a backpack is awesome, in my opinion.
