What's this all about?

Small but mighty, the Navigator Duffel Bag packs a massive punch. Toted by the handles or packed on the back, the Navigator is compact but surprisingly spacious and its sophisticated styling that works downtown or way way out of town. The Timbuk2 team has tested it on weekend jaunts to Los Angeles and ten day treks across Asia, and managed to look prepared and presentable in both cases. The backpack straps easily clip in for a secure carry and are a cinch to tuck away when you don't need them. The large internal main compartment is wide and long enough for a range of clothing, even fitting a 15" MacBook if you fancy. The two external zipper pockets provide excellent areas for compressing underwear, down items, or power bricks and dongles. And the bottom zipper compartment holds magazines, shoes, or boarding passes, and magically doubles as an envelope for stuffing and storing the whole duffel. Who doesn't need an amazing navigator in their life?

Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

this is a mighty big bag.
with a few yoga moves i could probably fit into it.
i originally purchased it to transport a specific item, yet the item didn't fit. though that is alright, 'cause its a well constructed bag that i can use for extended day trip land travel.
the end pocket for shoes or extras is brilliant.
the shoulder straps are a nice addition and comfortable.
the side pockets are roomy, though their covers are a little awkward.
the fold and stow pocket is very convenient.
if it doesn't fit everything to keep you covered on a trip, i don't know what you need.

    Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I use the bag for short trips (2-7days) and use it to carry clothes and some camera gear. The bag, as is typical of Timbuktu products, is well-built and lightweight; the side pockets with weather protection is also cool. I use the underside flap for storing few documents that I don't have to take out every now and then. The shoulder straps to carry the duffel bag as a backpack is also a great addition; this allows me to carry my gear and clothes easily (instead of dragging them on the road) on short trips and not worry about leaving anything at the hotel or room. While suitcases with rollers are nice as you can avoid carrying it, if you are a bit adventurous and want to roam around a city, take pictures and move around a lot, even having a lighter suitcase is not really helpful. Duffels especially ones that you can carry as a backpack is awesome, in my opinion.

      Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I use this bag to carry all my soccer referee gear. I bought it after a major athletics brand bag I had for around 15 years bit the dust. It wasn't roomy enough for everything I have to carry around at this point (worst case scenario: 20 uniform shirts, several pairs of socks, shorts, warmups, flags, change of clothes, towel), so I wanted something larger and at least as durable. This is a great bag. It has plenty of room for everything I'd need to carry, and I can pack shoes, clothes, and small pieces of gear in separate pockets. My one concern was the lack of a shoulder strap, but the backpack straps are actually better. If this bag holds up as long or longer than my last ref bag, I'll be very happy.

        Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

Good bag for storing the our ski gear for a family of 4 during the off-season. It's pretty big, so I'm not sure whether the backpack straps will ever get used (and I might just cut them out to get rid of the extra weight and bulk).

I do mulitsports including tennis yoga n swim ane tried to have various equipment readily available.
I had used a nice Oakley bag but found the various compartments too small.
Ithr timbuk2 bag is very generous in the various compartments and easy to carry with the double straps. Very sturdy and durable construction

            Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

Thought I'd give this one a try, since I've loved every other product I've had in the last 10-15y. The large duffle was too big for a standard carryon, and the lack of a shoulder strap made it completely nonfunctional for me.
For carryon purposes, the medium (if it had a shoulder strap) would be perfect. I loved the bag otherwise tho...

              Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I got the small, and it's just big enough for a pair of shoes and a few items of clothing. Only wo small pockets on the front of the bag - very bare-bones bag.

Still, it's nice and durable, which of you have any other Timbuk2 bags, you know is par for the course.

                Comments about Navigator Duffel Bag:

I've been using a medium Navigator for about ten months now and each time I travel I still can't believe how roomy it is. Weekend trips to the beach, mountains, and weeklong trips for weddings, the Navigator handled them all with ease this year

While it may look flimsy right out of the shipping bag, once you handle it for a bit you know you could drag it down a snowy gravel road and it'd still look brand new without a tear or scratch.

My only complaint, and maybe this is with duffle bags in general, is that I really wish there was one internal pocket for loose/ small stuff. The two exterior pockets are great but an inside one would be even better.

The self-packing aspect makes it very easy to separate clean and dirty clothes with the big bottom compartment on the bottom.

If I ever need to travel the world, I'll be back for a large Navigator; I'm sure I could pack for a year or two with it.
