    Comments about Q Laptop Backpack:

I purchased this bag not ever owning a Timbuk2 bag but knowing that owning one would mean some serious swagger points added to my credentials - and boy, was I right! Not only is this the most comfortable and functional professional work bag I have ever owned, but it is also the most stylish. It was immediate love at first sight! I use my Q bag on a daily basis to transport my work items (laptop, charging cords, notebook, etc.), but it is roomy enough to comfortably fit my breakfast, lunch, snack, a pair of shoes and metro reading material in there as well. The best feature of this bag - LIFETIME GUARANTEE!! :)

    Comments about Q Laptop Backpack:

The pack itself is well designed from the standpoint of being a stylish, functional bag for storing items. It laptop compartment in particular is well padded and designed. This pack does not offer tons of space. I can get what I need for work in it. A couple of books, laptop, lunch, a couple of other essentials. But I cannot fit both work and post-work workout essentials (gym shoes, shorts, socks) in the pack. I don't think that the storage capacity is good for travel. What storage there is, however, is well designed, particularly for storing more delicate electronics, sun glasses, etc. What I HATE about this backpack is that when it comes to carrying on ones shoulders -- i..e, being a backpack, it is poorly designed. Even though I am relatively broad shouldered, the shoulder straps want to come off my shoulders if I don't use the chest strap, which I find obnoxious, particularly for a more professional, less active look. Also, the pack is a little short and very boxy. The boxy design helps with the style -- clean lines, etc. Also helps with computer protection. But the pack hits me at a very awkward curve in my back, which is uncomfortable if I am wearing less clothes (I live in a cold, northern climate 7 months of the year). The pack is one of the less expensive Timbuk2 packs, and is decent "entry level" pack for that reason. But I would have loved to see/try on different packs at a Timbuk2 store and find the best for pack for my uses.

      Comments about Q Laptop Backpack:

I was looking for a replacement backpack for my commute. It primarily carries my laptop, laptop power adapter, small umbrella, extra articles of clothing for rainy days, external battery for my cell phone, notebook, and lunch.

---After a few days of wearing this backpack---

I felt some soreness between my neck and shoulder. I found I needed to adjust the straps better to get a more balanced weight on each side of my back.

The channeled airmesh ventilated back panel keeps my back more comfortable compared to my previous backpacks without it.

      ---After 1 month of use---

I like the bag's design. It has enough pockets to keep everything I pack separate and organized while still maintaining a slim, rectangular shape. While riding public transportation, I normally keep the bag on my lap or upright next to me. I can access my headphones and notebook quickly. It is large for my lap, but it makes a nice flat surface to use.

The side grab handle is sturdy. I use it when I need to quickly carry the backpack.

I rarely used the elasticized external side pocket but the material seems durable and would not tear easily like other side pockets I've had.

The smart power brick pocket takes up space in the lower portion of the large main compartment. It keeps the backpack's slim shape, but one should not store too much in it. I store my external battery, cable, cell phone wall adapter, and a small, reusable grocery bag in it.

      Side note:
When looking at different backpacks, during a Timbuk2 sale period, I was deciding between the Showdown and the Q. I chose the Q Laptop backpack because it looked more professional with the flat front surface, and it had all the functional pockets the Showdown had, but in better locations.

This is a wonderful product and exactly what I was looking for in a solid commuter bag. I use the backpack to hold my MacBook, iPad, several cords, papers and several other things and there's plenty of storage. The inside of the backpack is padded and definitely protects whatever is inside. Not to mention it looks a lot nicer than 3/4 of the backpacks that I see during my commute. Great product!!

          Comments about Q Laptop Backpack:

This is my first time trying Timbuk2 and I'm kinda hooked. I was deciding between the Q backpack versus the Parkside and decided to go with the Q for the design. When I first got the Q in the mail I thought it was too long for someone my size, ~5'. However, now I realized the weight distribution for the Q is fantastic. I barely feel anything on my shoulders. And I can stuff as much was I need into it and it'll still look fantastic. Regularly, I can fit a lunch container, 32oz water bottle, gym clothes, book/several notebooks, knick knacks and sneakers. Really fantastic and highly recommended. For individuals on the shorter/smaller end, just know it might be longer than expected.

          Comments about Q Laptop Backpack:

A nice, stylish, and practical bag that I use for work as I have to lug a 17 in screen laptop every day. This bag has so many pockets and sleeves and places to put everything!

My two criticisms for this bag are:
Fits my laptop, but it's a bit of a tight squeeze - so if the backpack were to be dropped onto one of the top left/right corners, or was hit by something on the top left/right corners, my laptop would probably be damaged.

The other being that one of the zippers on the compartment for my laptop is broken/stuck. It isn't a deal-breaker as I can still zip my bag shut, but it's a bit of a nuisance since the bag was brand new.

After painstakingly reviewing the Timbuk2 website, I settled on the Q. On paper, everything was perfect, but when I got it, I just wasn't a fan.

The bag is well made, it's just not for me. I didn't like the entry of the front pocket or laptop compartment - especially the latter, it just seemed awkward.

Overall, I didn't think this was the best choice for and swapped it out for the Uptown.
