A military-inspired backpack with a slim, urban profile, the Rogue samples went fast in the Timbuk2 office. Clean on the outside, the Rogue is rather clever on the inside. A stretchy, air mesh laptop sleeve keeps your laptop safe and cool and internal organization provides a place for pens and power cords. On the outside, its cushy straps are super comfortable and come with a bottle opener for hydrations emergencies. And as a nod to the hardcore, daisy-chain webbing provides attachment points for your U-lock, carabiners or more serious strap-on accessories, but they're designed to look good naked too. Do as you wish.

    Comments about Rogue Laptop Backpack:

Having been a STRICT Chrome Bags user for the past 6 or so years, I had a difficult time even THINKING about switching brands. That said, as I was looking at the Timbuk2 products on their site, I stumbled across the Rogue. Based on the description, it was almost everything I was looking for in a bag, carried the same lifetime warranty, and, let's be honest, was nowhere near as expensive.

Upon receipt, the first thing I noticed was the lack of over-abundant long straps: one of my biggest gripes about Chrome bags is that there are not only too many straps, but, regardless of what I have in my bag, the straps are ALWAYS between 6-12" too long, and I can't stand that. The Rogue was visibly missing these inconveniences, so I was immediately intrigued.

Of course, the true test of any bag is to pack it full and try it out. I transferred all of my daily contents (iPad, iPod, cassette tape Walkman, phone, headphones, cycling tools, jersey, jacket, hoodie, neoprene mask, beanie, gloves, arm- and leg-warmers, chain and u-locks, pens/markers, sewing kit, and water bottle) into the Rogue, and, just to test it out, I tossed my laptop in, as well. Not only did everything fit PERFECTLY (and conveniently, I might add), but the bag adjusted quickly and easily to my "comfort zone", which is sometimes difficult due to lower back issues.

Once the back was packed, I took off for a short 10-mile ride, and it was easily one of the most comfortable rides I've ever had with a backpack on. The couple of times I stopped, my u-lock was EASILY accessible, as was my phone, and I never even had to actually take the bag off in order to access these items.

The bottom line is this: from what I can tell, in the world of cycling (especially messenger-type cycling), there are two types of people: Chrome people and Timbuk2 people. I WAS a Chrome person, but the ease of ordering, service, and the product itself have converted me to a Timbuk2 person - I'll never NEED to purchase another bag, but, simply because I like variety, the next bag I DO purchase will be from Timbuk2. Excellent work, folks, and thank you for such a fine product!

        Comments about Rogue Laptop Backpack:

Recommended as a "buy it for life" laptop bag, and does not disappoint. As someone who commutes daily by bus with a beast of a laptop, this waterproof backpack makes lugging it a breeze. The sternum strap and comfortable shoulder straps keep the weight close to your body, and the waterproof flap keeps contents dry. Very adjustable for shorter people, and the exterior pocket is good for quick access for bus passes and other small items. Only improvement it could use would be some reflectors, but the webbing offers many places to attach accessories and reflective tape.

          Comments about Rogue Laptop Backpack:

I think this is a great backpack. It has a distinctive style compared to the bog standard outdoor backpacks out there and is perfect for what I bought it for - urban commuting to and from work.

Some people have complained in reviews about the lack of padding on the straps. Given the size and function of this bag I think the padding is fine, but I probably wouldn't recommend it for a 40km hike if that's what you had in mind.

The pack feels incredibly durable and has decent waterproofing if you get caught in an unexpected downpour. It is relatively minimalist in terms of pockets, but there's enough there to help you organise your bits.

Overall I think it's really well priced and am very happy. The bottle opener is a nice touch.

I honestly like this backpack a lot. It's really compact and comfortable. My laptop is a bit larger its recommended laptop size but it still fits perfectly. It looks stylish. All my friends like it. Honestly, North Face backpack is old and outdated. Timbuk2 is NEW WAY OF LIFE for all those hipster out there. Go on youtube for video. The shipping service are great. I got it on time before I travel to another state.

            Comments about Rogue Laptop Backpack:

I was really looking for a new waterproof messenger bag from some other SF bag-makers. (You know who I'm talking about.) but decided to get a backpack, because I want to start cycling to work. I didn't really like the backpack offerings from the other guys, and their prices are outrageous. Enter: Timbuk2. Well designed, stylish, functional and cost effective. So far I really like the bag. It holds everything I want to commute with and all my "get home" gear in case of apocalypse... It keeps out heavy rain for an extended period of time, which is nice. The only things I would add are more pockets, and a key clip inside.

              Comments about Rogue Laptop Backpack:

My partner was looking for a bag for me to carry around my laptop and various bits and pieces. Too many backpacks just don't look good. This one is a great colour. Is waterproof not just resistant and is a dream to hold. There is more storage than you can imagine but it doesn't make the bag too big to carry around nor does it look odd. It is a very high quality feel bag and much better than bags priced higher. A great buy and a great bag.

its good to take your daily stuff with you. Sufficient space for a computer, a change of clothes, and a water bottle. But the straps are not very comfortable. If they had worked more on their straps the bag would be steal.

It is also a bit of a pain getting into and out of the main pocket because you have to un clip it and then unvelcro it.

Eh, so looks nice but not the best.

Love the easy access main compartment. Love the look.

Smaller than expected. When packed for travel the only outside pocket is extremely difficult to access (super tight). Another "bottle" pouch on the outside would be great for something like a small umbrella.
