Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

Great back pack for me, one large main compartment which is what I was looking for, a big enough front pocket for quick easy access to your stuff. Weather proof, well made, nice solid & tough. I almost purchased two I liked it so much but this one will probably last forever! If your looking for a one/main compartment stylish backpack with a decent sized external zippered pocket, you can't go wrong with this one!

Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

I use this every day for class, and whether skating or biking it feels great on my back. I'm a big fan of mollee webbing but I'm not about to go to class with a tactical pack, so this is a great compromise if you're a fan of lashing stuff to webbing. I found its wide enough to slip a bike pump into, and I use the velcro for a light for night. The only qualms I have about it, is the lack of organization. There are only two pockets, the main compartment and the outer one, with two sleeves in it, I'd love another pocket inside somewhere. Also, the bottom is waterproof so you don't have to worry about putting it in moisture, but during rains the top fabric soaks up water. Doesn't rain much here, but if it does where you live be aware.

I bought this for my high school-age son - who is very particular - and he loves this bag! It's roomy without being bulky; it looks cool (or whatever they say these days); and it is very sturdy. And a great price considering the features and durability. Love Timbuk2!

I hang the float device for mi child after class - yes is not stylish like that anymore, but I have 2 babies so I need both hands, wet stuff hangs in the outside, membership on a nice hook outside, side pockets to carry toys and Sippy cup, on the inside I use the laptop pocket to put things that I never take out, like wipes adn dipers. When traveling - an ipad, child headphones and diapers, sling and I can not believe all that stuff that fits in this slim bag =) Add passports, tickets, wallet even makeup and sunglasses, yes all in it, I don't need another bag to carry on the plane, with two kids this is bliss

    Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

I've been using this for about 2 months now. I really like it. It is tall and slim which is nice. It replaced a NF Recon which squatty and fat. The straps are comfortable. However there are not many pockets which I knew, therefore a lot gets thrown into the deep main pocket.

    Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

I've tried all sorts of packs to try to replace my ten year old timbuk2 messenger and all have come up short.... until now. Not that I needed a replacement because my solid black messenger is still going strong, but there are times when two straps are better than one and I wanted the same durability and subtleness that could stand up to lots of travel and look good in both informal and business-y settings. The size is perfect too - not too big, not too small. No compression straps but its so long and narrow that it manages to look good even practically empty. Materials seem like they'll last forever.

      Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

I bring this backpack to work everyday, it semi-replaced a previous TIMBUK2 backpack of which was amazing, but this worked better for my scenario with the 2 side pockets that will fit a full size Nalgene water bottles and it will still just barely fit a 17 inch MacBook Pro. There are fewer pockets on this one compared to my previous pack, but simplicity is bliss. Great addition to my bag addiction... :)

I use the slate backpack laptop to carry all the important stuff I need daily when going to college. What's so great about the bad has to be the design, size, and comfort. Added bonus is the weatherproof material.

          Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

This the 3rd Timbuk2 backpack I've owned and while I've loved all of them the Slate is my favorite.

The laptop sleeve fits my 13" Macbook w/ Sleeve perfectly and the large internal compartment holds all my things with a bit of room to spare. The outer pocket holds any small things I need while the outer starps allow for more personalization and the ability to clip things that are to big to carry.

My favorite overlooked aspect of the bag is that the sternum strap is removable.

The only change I would make to this bag would be to add an internal organizer pocket to the main compartment.

            Comments about Slate Laptop Backpack:

I came across this bag just after I bought a different laptop backpack, but I had to get it. It's simple and sleek (black model). I like simple bags with quick organization that is practical. The main compartment fits my 13" Macbook Pro and Twelve South Travel Journal that holds a tablet and notebook accessories. I've also stashed my gym clothes, lunch and books in there with room to spare. Other than the laptop sleeve, there are no other pockets to get in your way.

The bag is taller than a normal backpack, which, in addition to having a deeper main compartment, makes room for 2 usable side pockets. This is exactly what I needed, one for a water bottle and another for an umbrella. Also, the height of the bag makes it look more masculine given the narrow width. Feels good, looks good.

The small outside pocket is perfect for a wallet, keys, snack and phone. The outside Velcro straps are a bit awkward, but you may find them useful for adding on smaller bags with s-clips or carabiners so you don't have to carry anything else in your hands.

The quality seems solid, although I've been using it for a just a couple months. And I use it as my work bag, so it only sees action between the door and my car. Like other bags by this brand, it is expensive, but designed well. It's hard to find laptop backpacks that look good and aren't loaded with unnecessary organization and options. This fits the bill.
