What's this all about?

The Snoop Camera Messenger would make an excellent spy. On the outside it plays it cool with dark coloring and classic messenger styling, but on the inside it's calculated, cautious, and a little bit sneaky. The fully padded, totally modular interior is designed to house camera lenses, bodies, and batteries. Simply move the walls around to fit the cameras you carry. If you really mean business, you can secure your tripod with the adjustable straps on the bottom of the bag. And when you're not packing (cameras), simply remove the padded insert and rock it like a classic messenger. Not to be a bummer...but insert not sold separately.

Used for 2 main purposes: (1) to contain my cameras, as a dedicated camera bag for a photo-walk/trip, and can still contain some other things needed, and (2) to hold a small number of important things to bring outside (e.g. main documents, book, portable game console, some cables, a camera - when not used as a dedicated camera bag, an extra shirt or 2...

Comments about Snoop Camera Messenger 2011:

Great bag! Camera insert can hold 24-70 mounted, hood on plus a few primes and 13" macbook in the back.

Small size bag can carry a gripped dslr but sticks out and you have to loosen the front straps to close.

Too bad it doesn't have a handle on the top for quick pickup.

Lots of padding to feel secure, not too bulky (medium size looks a lot larger) - small size is perfect for being discreet. Take the insert out and it's a regular timbuk2 messenger. Definitely recommended.

Comments about Snoop Camera Messenger 2011:

I was looking for a camera bag primarily for events, where I'm on my feet, don't carry a full set of gear, and don't typically have a spot to stash my big bag.
The Snoop has worked out very well for that use - I'm carrying a full-size Nikon body, 24-70 and 70-200 lenses, speedlight, and some accessories. The side pockets hold spare batteries, memory cards, etc.
The position of the bag on my back makes it easier to walk through venues too.

Comments about Snoop Camera Messenger 2011:

This review is for the S size.

I took an out of town weekend trip carrying the following kit with me:
            - Full frame DSLR (no grip)
            - 24-70mm 2.8
            - 70-200mm 2.8
            - Flash
            - 10" Tablet
            - 6" eReader

The Good: You can carry all this stuff in one bag.
The Bad: VERY uncomfortable and you might damage your tablet/laptop.

            IT'S TIGHT
The snoop camera insert can handle all these but no more. Good amount of padding and possible divider configurations. I especially like the pleated dividers that allow them to bend - great for creating long lens slots in the bag.

            DON'T TAKE YOUR TABLET/LAPTOP
The tablet/laptop divider is a joke and waste of resource because the side that faces the back of the bag is unpadded. This means that you're constantly bumping into and putting a lot of bending pressure on your laptop as you go across town. One little bump on a corner of a table at a cafe, and your tablet/laptop would probably crack.

            UNCOMFORTABLE IF YOU PACK IT
The combined weight of this kit puts a lot of pressure on one shoulder. The included shoulder pad does not distribute the load enough that you may as well not have it on.

            STRAP FATIGUE
The strap itself is very rigid. Great durability, but very poor comfort and usability. The rigid strap will keep lomping over to one side or the other, making the strap loop a tripping hazard for people around you. Also, the two loops at the bottom of the bag makes the bag fall over when you put it on the ground.

            RECOMMENDATION
My recommended use for this shoulder bag is for a day trip with a smaller set of gear such as one body and one lens. Don't bother taking your tablet or laptop in this one unless it's already in a padded sleeve.

            MODS
I made the following mdos to make this bag better suited for my uses:
            1. Rip out the laptop insert.
            2. Rip out the two loops on the bottom of the bag.
            3. I may rip out the quick snap buckles for the cover strap and replace them with rare earth magnet type.

Comments about Snoop Camera Messenger 2011:

I really love this bag as both a camera bag and a day to day commuter. Some things that might make it the best bag I've ever owned would be a handle at the top and side pockets. Other than that, I love the construction and the padding of the camera area. Truly a solid bag.
