    Comments about Spire Laptop Backpack:

I use to carry around a huge swissgear bag that could handle my 15" mac, clothes for traveling, work and personal gear. That bag could carry everything! But eventually the strap broke. I didn't want to get the same bag (it wasn't very eye pleasing) but I needed the new bag to do the same.

After lots of research, looking at price and space quality, this was it, the Timbuk2 Spire. I got it in goldrush. AND I LOVE IT! It looks great, feels great, and carries everything (a little less clothes tho, but more than what I expected!). I beat this bag up and it is holding up just find. We have been together going on 5 months, and no signs of wearing down.

    Comments about Spire Laptop Backpack:

I've used this bag for both personal and work travel and commuting. It's s nice bag but lacks pockets and features that even a cheaper messenger bag has (no key hook??).

If you have both hands this bag is decent but frustrating. It's shape will prevent it from standing up so make sure you tilt it right or else it will come crashing down.

I'm now with it the use of my left hand, temporarily we hope. This bag is down right infuriating with one hand. Good luck getting the top to stay open with one hand and again the shape causes it to fall or side to the ground. All while trying to get something out of put a laptop in. I've almost torched the bag on several occasions. Just because of those two things.

I will say it does hold up well in rain for not being weather proof. Stuff in side was damp but not wet after getting caught in a moderate downpour.

I'll be selling this bag and looking for something else. It's been almost two years and the bag has held up well, but so well I can't keep the top to stay open in its own.

I also had to take the strap that closed across your chest off. It was realty uncomfortable.

Bought this as a gift. My plan was to stuff it full of books before I gave it to my boyfriend. That plan didn't work out because there was so much room in the backpack I couldn't possibly fill it. It's like Mary Poppins' bag, but with more pockets. My boyfriend loves the backpack and carries it everyday as his briefcase. He also uses it when we travel.

              Comments about Spire Laptop Backpack:

This is one of the best backpacks I have ever owned. The best thing about this bag is it is actually more comfortable when riding then actually carrying around.

When I first bought this bag I only had a bike to get to school, run errands, and even buy groceries. In all of these aspects, this bag exceeds expectations. I even used it to go on a 4 day vacation and it fit everything just fine.

It is large enough to hold everything I use (laptop, charger, 4 composition books, TI-84 calculator, a food container, a wrench, an alan key set, a sweater, and headphones) and then some. Even though the bag is not waterproof, it is VERY weather resistant. I have gotten the bag thoroughly soaked on many occasions and the only water damage is very small parts of my notebooks. One of my favorite features on this bag is the u-lock holder which i use everyday and can be access with both straps still on (which is nice).

One of the only things I dislike about this bag is the pocket just inside the main compartment that can hold pens, a charger, etc. If it is not closed when trying to stuff books into the bag sometimes they get caught on it. The solution is just to make sure its closed after you use it. Other than that, FANTASTIC bag.

              Comments about Spire Laptop Backpack:

I spent a lot of time debating which backpack to get. I'm SO pleased with this one. I'm not even a bike rider and I love it. I am an avid city walker though and it's sufficiently comfortable for walking miles with it. The main advantages are its stylish look, durability, fantastic make, and intuitive design. I love the front pockets. They hold a ton of stuff - wallet, keys, makeup, business card case, tissues, etc. You can put your mini umbrella or water bottle in the side net thing. And then in the bag itself, it's pretty huge. You can fit your 15 inch laptop, notebooks, and a lot more. It's probably the best backpack I've ever owned...definitely the coolest looking and best designed.

              Comments about Spire Laptop Backpack:

The bag will fit a 15" (38cm) laptop, but I cannot remove it from the back zipper. The Velcro strap that secures the laptop is not long enough to to secure it in the laptop sleeve. I think if the timbuk2 website say it fits a 15" laptop, it should include securing with a Velcro sleeve.
Timbuk2 should also include a description in their spec if the bag will sit up on its end. This bag does not, not even when fully loaded. The bag will tip over because of the edge in the back of the bag that prevents it from standing up. I need the bag to stand up to save desktop space and not have the strap sitting on the floor.
The front pocket net organizer is pretty useless. Thee is no Velcro strap to hold it shape. Anything I put in there falls to the bottom of the bag. I like to see a a Velcro strip to hold it up. It would be a good place to store a pen that I can quickly get to.
Thought about returning the bag, but the postage to send it back wouldn't really be worth it

This backpack is super sweet. The straps are very comfortable and the main compartment is spacious. I bought this backpack because my last pack was too small to carry all my books and this one more than fit all of them and a bag of chips.

                  Comments about Spire Laptop Backpack:

I searched for a long time for a stylish pack that is also waterproof as I walk to work. We have had the wettest winter in memorable history, so keeping my ipad and laptop free from the rains was a driving factor. The pack has been great at keeping the weather out, and it seemed to me to be one of the most stylish 'urban' waterproof packs on the market. My only caveat is that I will the padded sleeve was slightly wider and the slim pockets associate with the sleeve slightly wider. I am an Architect and if I need to carry my MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro (with keyboard sleeve) I can not fit the iPad Pro in the slim sleeve with the laptop in the padded sleeve. This means the iPad sits loose in the volume of the pack.
