    Not bad for the price

Comments about Sternum Straps for Backpacks:

The product is good for what you pay. I would pay more to have better/more secure/stronger snaps that fasten the sternum straps to the backpack straps. They come undone fairly easily.

Comments about Sternum Straps for Backpacks:

A day after getting my Phoenix cycling backpack, I was visiting a client with a hyperactive dog. I set my bag on a chair and got on with the meeting. About 10 minutes later, I discovered that the dog was gnawing on the strap, and had nearly severed it. My client was mortified, offered to replace the pack, which seemed excessive. I went to the Timbuk2 website, to find out how much a strap was. I couldn't find it on the site, so I emailed customer support to figure it out. They sent me one for free! Thanks Timbuk2!

My 9 yr old son rides his bike to and from school everyday so I wanted a strap that would help keep the backpack more secure since he likes to get a little showy on the bike. This strap is perfect he loves it, wears it everyday!!!

Comments about Sternum Straps for Backpacks:

It's a sternum strap, and a good one at that. However, it does not provide the fit that I need. I'm 5'3" with a small frame, and the strap doesn't shorten as much as I needed to fit me properly. It's better than nothing. I'd love it if Timbuk2 offered the strap in a shorter length.

I got this as a replacement when the sternum strap broke on my Especiale Tres backpack. This strap seems a little less sturdy, but it has done the trick so far. I would love it if it synched down a bit more.

Comments about Sternum Straps for Backpacks:

My wife and I replaced our backpacks this year and I didn't notice that sternum straps were not included.

The Timbuk2 straps were affordable, easy to purchase, arrived promptly and work great! The only con is that the straps slide down the backpack's shoulder straps when not in use; an adhesive velcro pad or maybe a couple stitches will cure that tho.

Comments about Sternum Straps for Backpacks:

Going to use this sternum strap to hold together the backpack straps of my violin or my mandolin case, so that the instrument case stays on my back without me having to hold the straps. That way my hands are free to carry other things. I'm also using it to hold the handles of a Duffel bag that I own when I want to carry it in backpack mode, so that the bag doesn't slip off my back. Great that Timbuk2 makes these removable sternum straps. Very useful indeed.

Added this to a Wingman bag, and it works great. My only beef is- why didn't the bag come with one? I am just wrapping up week one of a three week, three country trip with just the Wingman, and this strap is a necessity.
