Thorina Rose

Thorina Rose was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Virginia. From earliest memory she had a pencil in her hand. Rose's work as an illustrator encompasses projects such as books, product design, advertising and magazine work. Her paintings have been exhibited in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and in Rome, Italy. Her work draws upon a personal iconography that reflects diverse influences from her 1970's adolescence, traveling, and her passion for art history, graphic design and vernacular art. She lives in San Francisco with her two sons. Her most recent project has been to write and illustrate a graphic memoir entitled The Heartbreak Diet to be published in 2008 by Chronicle Books.
