Comments about the Drift Knapsack
I've been using a bigger backpack that I initially bought for school and really like, but because it's so padded for toting around a 15" laptop, it felt quite heavy, so I was look for something lighter to use for everyday, when not using my laptop. I also wanted something less "sporty" and casual looking and more stylish as well. After taking it on a test drive this week, I'm happy to say that this was just what I was looking for! The Army-Robin RD Twill material is sleek and chic for running around the city, and the color (which seems just a bit darker than the pics) looks great. What really impressed me, though, was the surprising capacity, despite it being smaller than my other backpack. I carry A LOT of stuff on a daily basis! But I can fit wallet, keys, a medium sized makeup bag, a smaller bag with phone charger and battery packs, a set of scrubs, and snacks comfortably. And the best part- it doesn't feel heavy! There's just enough pockets (too many compartments can actually be a bit of overkill for me) for smaller, loose items- lip balm, bus pass, pens. It is actually possible to fit my 15" laptop in there as well, just not in the laptop sleeve. It obviously won't be well protected for longer or rough commutes, so not advisable for trips etc., but if you're just traveling a relatively short distance, it will fit. Even with the laptop, it still didn't feel overly heavy. Straps are comfortable, strong, and feel secure without being thick, and overall the bag does not feel or look overwhelming on a petite frame, such as mine. The only thing that could be improved are the zippers on the side pockets. As one reviewed noted, they could run a little smoother on closing. On one side in particular, I noticed if the zipper isn't lined up just so, you won't be able to zip it closed easily in one try. I also typically prefer a zip closure in general vs drawstring/magnetic closure, but this bag is so awesome otherwise, it wasn't a deal breaker.
