We've Got You Covered

Timbuk2's Lifetime Warranty

Timbuk2 products have a lifetime warranty; we stand behind the legendary quality and craftsmanship of all our products. Our warranty is valid only when the Timbuk2 product is purchased through Timbuk2 directly (via timbuk2.com or one of our brick-and-mortar retail stores) or through an Authorized Reseller.

We also embrace the wild, twisty ways of life. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair  the bag at our discretion. Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, accidential damage, and cosmetic damages that do not affect the functionality of the bag (such as scratches or stained fabrics). Any damage to, loss of the contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered. The lifetime warranty also does not include our apparel products, such as Timbuk2 t-shirts and hoodies.

Your Timbuk2 bag is sewn by hand and might contain some slight imperfections. Like Daniel Craig or Marilyn Monroe, the slight imperfections are what add character to an already awesome product.

Warranty & Repair FAQ

What is covered by the warranty?

Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship are covered, notwithstanding age. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair the bag at our discretion.
*If your product arrived defective from Timbuk2.com please email Customer Service and we'll move mountains to right your wrong.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues that do not affect the functionality of the bag, and accidental damage. Any damage to or loss of contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered.  Unless a product is designed and stated to be machine washable, washing bags in washing machines can result in damage not covered by our warranty.

Wear and tear is damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use. Regardless of how carefully you use, or how well you care for your bag, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Usual wear and tear not covered by the lifetime warranty includes changes in color, abrasions, and general breakdown of materials over time.  Some examples of common wear and tear include color fading from sun exposure, worn elastic, and fabric wear, especially in high wear areas such as corners, reflective binding, worn velcro, and worn shoulder or back padding. Some examples of accidential damage are rips or cuts in fabric, animals chewing or clawing on our products, as well as damage arising from airline abuse such as bent or dented luggage handles or damaged/cracked wheels & bottomplates.

What products aren’t covered by your fabulous warranty?

Any headwear, apparel or footwear. Third party attachments and or devices like the Joey power packs or NiteIze blinky lights, or Blue bottle kit accessories like scales, grinders, or cups. Any other third party accessories sold by Timbuk2 but not bearing the Timbuk2 brand.  The items are generally warrantied by their respective manufacturers.

Step 1 - Please select the appropriate link and check out to start a repair claim:

Please keep in mind that the repair fee payment is held as a pending authorization only - and will never be charged unless the damage or nature of the repair request is not covered under warranty and the bag can be repaired.

i would diffidently buy this bag again and again

Comments about the Especial Cycling Messenger Bag 2015

- for the shoulder strap, the padded bit could be longer, being too short makes it almost impossible to strap anything on it - access to the pockets is somewhat difficult if i wanna keep the bag on my shoulders - the undershoulder strap is really difficult to tighten or loosen with the bag on my back

i would diffidently buy this bag again and again

Neat Bag!

I really like the comfort of the bag. I'll wear it with all my work stuff or gym stuff and whether I am biking or walking, this bag is comfortable. The pockets are designed to be accessible without having to open the bag and it makes life easier if I don't want to take the bag off and hunt for items inside.

Excellent, durable, water-proof bag

I use this as my commuting bag for the train ride to NYC and my walk to the office. When the flap is closed it rolls the top of the main compartment closed, helping ensure no water gets in. The bag seems totally waterproof and has easily handled 15 minutes of walking in a downpour. It easily fits a pair of my size 12 dress shoes (with wooden trees) vertically with plenty of room for other stuff, which was part of the reason I bought it. It fits well and snugly and with the under-arm strap it stays secure on your back, perfect on a bike or scooter. Note that the zippers on the front aren't separate pockets - they access the shoe-sized pockets at the front of the bag. Note that the laptop zipper on the back isn't a separate pocket - it accesses the main compartment where the laptop sleeve is. I don't mind that as it's a second way to get in the bag. Only thing I would improve is the padding on the part that touches your back. The bag is designed to hang from your left shoulder to your right hip (diagonally across your back), but the padding is shaped vertically on the bag, as if you wore the pack like a backpack. Seems like a design flaw (the padding should be laid diagonally across the bag). Minor issue, doesn't really affect comfort.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Terrible strap design.

I'd been wanting one of these for a while. Bought one while they were on sale. I was so disappointed when it came and I tried it on! The way the cross-strap attaches to the shoulder strap forced the cross-strap to cut into my armpit. Like, really digs in there. Incredibly uncomfortable, both standing and in a cycling position. And I'm not a big guy, I don't have a massive upper body. I'm 5'11" 155lbs. I tried to justify keeping it, but ended up sending it back, unused. I've been waiting for a month and still have not seen the credit show up. Timbuk2 used to be my go-to company, but recently they aren't giving me much reason to stick with their products. Look elsewhere folks.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

When design precedes practicality

When the bag is full, the front flap will not be able to fully reach the velcro strips. The velcro strips will then abrasion the clasp straps and cause fraying.

With all the bells ad whistles

This bag does everything you need it too. I got the medium size and it's perfect for my iPad Pro and EDC. Big pockets not many little zip up type style pockets only one on the inside but I havnt needed those. This is a prectical bag that does what it needs to do. The parts where you need clever innovation is there. I thought the magnetic clips would be a bit rubbish but boy was I wrong. My only gripe if I had to be really picky is the clip on the strap to stop it dangling is good but feel like it could be better at holding on. But that's only really a problem when carrying it by hand. Kinda wish its was more like a pocket knife clip I geuss. I'm only being picky because of how great the rest of the bag is. Top marks all round
