We've Got You Covered

Timbuk2's Lifetime Warranty

Timbuk2 products have a lifetime warranty; we stand behind the legendary quality and craftsmanship of all our products. Our warranty is valid only when the Timbuk2 product is purchased through Timbuk2 directly (via timbuk2.com or one of our brick-and-mortar retail stores) or through an Authorized Reseller.

We also embrace the wild, twisty ways of life. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair  the bag at our discretion. Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, accidential damage, and cosmetic damages that do not affect the functionality of the bag (such as scratches or stained fabrics). Any damage to, loss of the contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered. The lifetime warranty also does not include our apparel products, such as Timbuk2 t-shirts and hoodies.

Your Timbuk2 bag is sewn by hand and might contain some slight imperfections. Like Daniel Craig or Marilyn Monroe, the slight imperfections are what add character to an already awesome product.

Warranty & Repair FAQ

What is covered by the warranty?

Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship are covered, notwithstanding age. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair the bag at our discretion.
*If your product arrived defective from Timbuk2.com please email Customer Service and we'll move mountains to right your wrong.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues that do not affect the functionality of the bag, and accidental damage. Any damage to or loss of contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered.  Unless a product is designed and stated to be machine washable, washing bags in washing machines can result in damage not covered by our warranty.

Wear and tear is damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use. Regardless of how carefully you use, or how well you care for your bag, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Usual wear and tear not covered by the lifetime warranty includes changes in color, abrasions, and general breakdown of materials over time.  Some examples of common wear and tear include color fading from sun exposure, worn elastic, and fabric wear, especially in high wear areas such as corners, reflective binding, worn velcro, and worn shoulder or back padding. Some examples of accidential damage are rips or cuts in fabric, animals chewing or clawing on our products, as well as damage arising from airline abuse such as bent or dented luggage handles or damaged/cracked wheels & bottomplates.

What products aren’t covered by your fabulous warranty?

Any headwear, apparel or footwear. Third party attachments and or devices like the Joey power packs or NiteIze blinky lights, or Blue bottle kit accessories like scales, grinders, or cups. Any other third party accessories sold by Timbuk2 but not bearing the Timbuk2 brand.  The items are generally warrantied by their respective manufacturers.

Step 1 - Please select the appropriate link and check out to start a repair claim:

Please keep in mind that the repair fee payment is held as a pending authorization only - and will never be charged unless the damage or nature of the repair request is not covered under warranty and the bag can be repaired.

After checking out, you will receive an email with instructions and a form to print out. A repair number will be generated and will need to be included with the bag when you send it in for repairs.

Step 2 - Send us the bag with the Repair number

Please send the bag to the address provided in the repair details email. Be sure to write your repair number on the outside of your package. We recommend using the least expensive shipping method that will provide you with a tracking number and insurance. Timbuk2 is not responsible for parcels lost in transit. Your repair fee covers the return shipping in the lower 48 United States.

  •      If the claim issues are covered by the lifetime warranty, we will waive the authorization fee and repair your product.

Awesome bag, some flaws

Great bag that is just big enough for daily work bits. Can't fit your lunch or other non essentials, but work stuff and you laptop or iPad will fit. But it is tight. The backpack mode doesn't really make sense because the useful internal pockets are all open and if turned sideways to use as a backpack, things fall out.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Looks good. Until you start using it...

Looks good out of the box, then reality sets in. The advanced "garbage bag" material develops creases all over from every day use, making the bag look a lot older than it actually is. The sleek back pocket soon stretches out and gapes open. After 2 weeks, paint is scratching off the strap hardware. Laptop pocket inside but bag overall has no padding for laptop protection.

Great product

Goodlooking product. Perfect (very) small briefcase. This isn't a big bag, and it doesn't have much space in it. But it is attractive, professional yet sporty and stylish. It would be more useful if it were bigger, but for what it is, I love it. And am using it everyday.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

just about great

Have been looking for a slim bag for a while -- tend to only travel with tablet and related power cables and standard laptop bag was heavier than was needed. This bag is great...slim, with just enough room. Would be perfect if the bag was an inch thicker and if the handle and shoulder strap were more substantial -- both a little slim.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Minimalistic, function over form

Minimalist design. Low volume, nice construction (after all, it is Timbuk2).

Conceptually great

I am an architect and use the bag primarily for commuting to and from work, to meetings and riding my bike to the coffee shop. I love the look of the minimal streamlined bag that matches the name name Heist well. Sleek and efficient. It a double edged sword. I carrying a surface pro, its related power supply, portable mouse,my sketchbook, bike lock, pens & pencils, ear buds, and few loose papers and it is at full capacity. I expected it it be tight so ot not a complaint. It could be easier to access the stuff inside which is cramped if ot openned up more than just the slot at the top. Straps are thin which hurts the sholder a bit on long rides. There ard no zipper pockets so if you use it as a backpack everything including pockets are sideways and things can fall out of the open pockets. I like the look and i think it works for business and weekend.
