We've Got You Covered

Timbuk2's Lifetime Warranty

Timbuk2 products have a lifetime warranty; we stand behind the legendary quality and craftsmanship of all our products. Our warranty is valid only when the Timbuk2 product is purchased through Timbuk2 directly (via timbuk2.com or one of our brick-and-mortar retail stores) or through an Authorized Reseller.

We also embrace the wild, twisty ways of life. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair  the bag at our discretion. Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, accidential damage, and cosmetic damages that do not affect the functionality of the bag (such as scratches or stained fabrics). Any damage to, loss of the contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered. The lifetime warranty also does not include our apparel products, such as Timbuk2 t-shirts and hoodies.

Your Timbuk2 bag is sewn by hand and might contain some slight imperfections. Like Daniel Craig or Marilyn Monroe, the slight imperfections are what add character to an already awesome product.

Warranty & Repair FAQ

What is covered by the warranty?

Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship are covered, notwithstanding age. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship we will repair the bag at our discretion.
*If your product arrived defective from Timbuk2.com please email Customer Service and we'll move mountains to right your wrong.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues that do not affect the functionality of the bag, and accidental damage. Any damage to or loss of contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered.  Unless a product is designed and stated to be machine washable, washing bags in washing machines can result in damage not covered by our warranty.

Wear and tear is damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use. Regardless of how carefully you use, or how well you care for your bag, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Usual wear and tear not covered by the lifetime warranty includes changes in color, abrasions, and general breakdown of materials over time.  Some examples of common wear and tear include color fading from sun exposure, worn elastic, and fabric wear, especially in high wear areas such as corners, reflective binding, worn velcro, and worn shoulder or back padding. Some examples of accidential damage are rips or cuts in fabric, animals chewing or clawing on our products, as well as damage arising from airline abuse such as bent or dented luggage handles or damaged/cracked wheels & bottomplates.

What products aren’t covered by your fabulous warranty?

Any headwear, apparel or footwear. Third party attachments and or devices like the Joey power packs or NiteIze blinky lights, or Blue bottle kit accessories like scales, grinders, or cups. Any other third party accessories sold by Timbuk2 but not bearing the Timbuk2 brand.  The items are generally warrantied by their respective manufacturers.

Step 1 - Please select the appropriate link and check out to start a repair claim:

Please keep in mind that the repair fee payment is held as a pending authorization only - and will never be charged unless the damage or nature of the repair request is not covered under warranty and the bag can be repaired.

Step 2 - Send us the bag with the Repair number

Please send the bag to the address provided in the repair details email. Be sure to write your repair number on the outside of your package. Hope they don't discontinue it

Plenty of structureless backpacks out there, but very few such messenger bags that are more appropriate for someone who isn't a student. It's sold out as I type this and I hope it isn't discontinued. The medium is barely large enough for a 13" laptop and a few other items. A slightly larger size option would be nice.

Not what I expected

Very lightweight since the material is flimsy. I would have thought that for the price, it would have been a little bit more heavy duty. Material so thin, you can see what's in it from the outside. No pockets.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Would be nice to have a zipper due to lack of structure

Purchased as a just-in-case bag and to store a few airplane items while I travel. I love timbuk2 messengers but the packaway nature of this bag makes the two little buckles seem insufficient; without a bunch of items to provide some internal tension, there are way too many gaps for things to fall out. an internal zipper would go a long way on this particular form factor (or I probably should have just gotten a tote!)

I loved it!

It would be nice to have some closure so I don't have to worry something will fall out of my bag. Overall I love it! Super lightweight and can easily take for a travel and pop out bad is always good.

Great messenger

Loved the bag, it fit perfectly in my on board suitcase and served as my messenger during the trip. Combined with a separate compartment I bought somewhere else to protect my ipad it was perfect.

Love this little gem!

I purchased this one after my original one that I had for YEARS finally bit the bullet. The bag is so strong and perfect for travel. I always carry it with me when I am traveling inside of my Timbuk2 backpack. the best usage have been at the farmers market and shopping at little beach side stands. The bag is pretty strong and depending on what you put in there it will hold a shape. I have even fit my 11" Macbook Air comfortably into the bag. I would totally recommend this bag to anyone who wants to have extra room just in case as you are running errands or traveling.

Great packaway bag

Really like this bag because I throw it in my backpack for work so I don't have to carry a backpack and a purse. I don't like carrying too many bags. My only complaint is there isn't a key leash. I think all Timbuk2 bags should have key leashes. Just makes it easier than having to rumage or even open my bag to look for my keys.

Perfect for Travel

I am a photographer currently traveling around the world by motorcycle and much like a backpacker, I need ultralight gear that is small and multifunctional. I needed a small messenger style bag to carry my laptop, hard drives, phone, cables etc, as well as a lens or two when I'm off the bike and exploring a town. The Hidden Messenger fits the bill as it packs down to the size of a pair of gloves and takes almost no room in the side cases. It is well made with a great strap and buckles, but be aware it is minimalist in design and made of a thin ripstop nylon. Obviously it has no padding, so lenses, laptop and such are carried in neoprene cases inside the bag. A couple of reviewers have mentioned wishing there was a top closure and that would be nice, however for keys and such they can be put into the storage pocket which hangs down inside the open bag - adds a little security for small items My 12" MacBook in an InCase padded pouch fits the exact sewn dimensions and has about 4" of depth available in front for water bottle, hard drive and accessory cases or even a couple of padded action camera pouches. If you are looking for a tough bag that you can drag across rocks and toss around, this isn't the one. If you need a bag that can function for some gear, or hold a fleece and rain shell, or serve as a shopping bag that will fit into a rear jeans pocket, this would be the one.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

meh

This seems like a good idea... nice, light weight messenger bag that packs down small. It is a messenger bag. It is lightweight, but it doesn't really pack down... the pictures in the description of the packed version that show it nearly the size of the expanded version... those are to scale. It is a small messenger bag that packs down into a slightly smaller pocket... I guess the main complaint is the packing down doesn't really add any value. If you're looking for a light-weight messenger bag, go for it... if you're looking for something that packs in on itself to save space... that isn't what this excels at.
