    Comments about Swig Laptop Backpack:

I've owned this bag for about a month now and I travel every weekend with it across the country and during the week I commute with it.

This is a great bag: The division of the compartments is excellent. This was the perfect size for me; not too bulky but with plenty of storage. It is built super well.

It could use some improvement: I wish the straps on the back that secure the exterior pouch could be hidden or removed along with the top loop. These two items make the backpack... look like a backpack. I'd rather have something a little more professional so I don't feel like a school kid going to work.

It's a great looking and super functional backpack but it is a BACKPACK. With a few tweaks it might end up fooling the boss that you have a slim messenger bag.

When initially exploring the bag I discovered a new species of sightless fish and a tribe of pygmies that had never been contacted by modern man.

This bag is that deep. If you have a lot of stuff to lug around but don't want to look it, this is the bag for you.

      Comments about Swig Laptop Backpack:

I switched to a backpack from a one shoulder bag and was looking for something that allowed me to access at least one pocket without having wrestle the bag into an accessible position. When I saw the two side zippers as an alternative way of getting into the bag, I was very excited. The one accessing the smaller compartment (which actually, isnt that small--it's the full height of the bag, but doesnt allow for much expansion outwards) is great for accessing phone and wallet. However, because it's a fairly big pocket, it can get hard to reach in when your bag is full and find what you want to find. There's plenty of small pockets in the front compartment (not accessible by zipper), including a zipper pocket.

The bag fits a lot for how small it looks (laptop, accessories, lunches, water bottle, and an extra cardigan). I really like the two toned gray and the blue. The bottle opener serves as a great key clip if you have a carabiner.

The downside is that the bag cant sit up straight. There's no structure at the bottom. It kind of feels like there's no cushion at the bottom of the laptop sleeve. I personally would've preferred a zipper sleeve since there's still a little bit of a hole on the sides when the bag is folded down and it seems like water can get in that way. I was also hoping for a more cushioned straps, and it still feels pretty stiff, but am hoping it'll get better over time.

It's a great bag and sits fairly flat against your body.

Great but with a major design flaw

      Comments about Swig Laptop Backpack:

This is one of the nicest backpacks I've ever own. I have the dark blue one with the orange straps and the orange really pops against the dark background. It has just the right amount of pockets; not too many, not too few, and holds my laptop, gym clothes, and everyday necessities (cellphone, wallet, etc) quite easily. Also, it comes with a bottle opener. How cool is that?

Unfortunately, it has one major design flaw. The sewing that attaches the padded part of the straps to the adjustable webbing is very poor quality for how much of the load that section has to bear. The strap on mine came undone after less than a week of use, and it's designed in such a way that it must be sewn back together, I couldn't just re-insert it. Because I love this bag so much, I opted to fix it rather than returning it to REI where I bought it, but I'm no seamstress so I anticipate having to fix it again in the future.

I really love this bag, just the straps are very poorly designed compared to the rest of the bag and what I've come to know and expect from Timbuk2. If not for the strap issue this would be 5 stars easily.

          Comments about Swig Laptop Backpack:

I'm 5'4", wear a large/10/12 and this bag gives me several things my old messenger couldn't:
          1. narrow width lets me see easily while I'm on my bike
          2. chest strap between straps is well away from my breasts
          3. doesn't slide off my shoulders/back

I'm thinking of getting the 3-way phone carrier to attach to one of the front straps, but that's the only thing I can think of that this is lacking. The navy color makes this work-appropriate (casual office- I don't carry it around at work, but I wouldn't want to show up with something bright/loud). My laptop fits well and I don't worry about it getting jostled- the weight distribution with groceries is good as well, I haven't had any shoulder pain or stiffness.

In short, reccomended for women with breasts that can get in the way of messengers- I can't believe I waited this long!

I used a messenger bag for many years and I have alignment issues in my upper back (as a result of carrying the bags and my kids, too). I carry a MacBook Pro and work supplies daily. I am a petite female and I needed a bag with compartments, padding for a computer and that would distribute the weight better. This backpack rocks! It met all of this criteria and it looks cool, too.

              Comments about Swig Laptop Backpack:

My friend suggested this bag to me after I'd been commuting via bicycle with a Timbuk2 messenger bag for years. This bag has saved my back and my commute. First of all cycling with a computer and a change of clothes can definitely wear on your spine, especially without adequate support and padding. These straps conform perfectly to my body and keep the bag moving with me instead of against me (The messenger bag was always sliding around even with that 3rd strap). The padding in back provides awesome comfort and protection for my computer. Plus it has pretty good ventilation, I still sweat but not as much as with other bags (It's a backpack not an antiperspirant)
This thing is spaaaacious! I feel like I have even more room with it than I did my large messenger bag. If you can't fit everything you need in it, you have no idea how to play Tetris. Which brings me to my next point the accessibility. There are two side entry zippers which is great for shoving stuff in there when I'm bopping in between errands.
Added bonus I customized it to reflect my style. Purple is for the royals baby!

I wear this while walking between my office and home. I needed something to hold my lunch, coffee thermos, a spare jacket, my water bottle, and a hat.

I am also able to carry a portable battery for charging my tablet and phone, my tablet, a small tool kit, paper and pens/pencils.

Recent rains show that the items in the bag stayed dry while I was using it. I like that quite a bit.
